Just because one thing is popular than the others (though obviously it being a longer story-based work has a lot to do with it) doesn’t mean the artist themselves wants to do only one genre. That gets boring and can dull their creativity. That’s often why when it’s his turn for shorts he often suggests a genre that hasn’t been done in a while.

And now that he’s taking half his months to do whatever he wants, expect new things to come through as well.

So what, they are probably the most mainstream of his videos, so having a broader viewer base means nothing, it doesn't change the fact that he has a loyal fan base for his niche videos, (Kinks that probably represent his own tastes since these were his themes from the beginning).
