I absolutely loved this game. A TV show might go off the air for 2 years and I'm still excited when it comes back. I don't feel differently about this game. I have other shows to watch while I wait for Stranger Things and I have other games to play while I wait for Hard News.

It's so funny when hogs squeal about the dev for milking the game, complaining their work ethic, bad development, lack of communication and transparency. And yet when the only reasonable direction to this is for the hogs to stop enabling the dev, and letting this game die naturally, the hogs suddenly come defending the game's existence.

You miss an important fact. Nobody pays for this game, this game is released FOR FREE directly by Stoper himself. So those people just pay him knowing they could still get the VN. They give him money without any direct benefit. I think they already know that Stoper is really slow. Do you think he would go faster without that income? Who knows. I think he has other income sources that he gives priority to, so he really does not depend on JOHN for anything, it's just a nice hobby for him.
You can subscribe to his Patreon and ask the other subscribers to put more pressure to Stoper, to protest. Try that, convince them. Now you have a mission!

I have the feeling as he is not making enuf progress, it would help doing a reboot with new Jess + new The CONNEr but same story, so everyone can have a lot of fun the next 20+ years! To reach the point where we are today.... again!

Hi, everyone.
I made a good progress in the last weeks, although the excessive heat this month did not help at all. Still, I'm on the last stages of the final event. I decided to add one more variation in it, that will add a couple more animations and a dozen images, so that's increasing the amount of work left, but it will be worth it. I don't want to spoil anything now, but after the release I'll let you know where the branching happens, so you could try all the way the scene can play.
10 or so days should be enough to finish what I have in mind. I'll make a post when all the images are ready, which would mean that the release will be ready 4-5 days after that.
There will be no edits on the previous days in this release. I started making them, but they ended up more substantial than I initially though. On top of that I would most likely have to add images, re-render entire scenes. More work than I can do at the moment without delaying the update too much. So after the update is released, I'll get to that and make an edited update next.
Last week there was a change on how the Patreon app works on iOS devices. Apple want their cut, so if you join from the app on these devices you will get charged an extra 30% on top of the normal tier price you have chosen. This applies only for new pledges, so if you have already on a $10 tier, for example, you will still get charged 10 bucks next time. But if you move to a higher tier, basically making a new purchase from the app, extra 30% will apply. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the extra charge is only for the first month, or gets applied to every month after that as well. In any case, avoid subscribing on the iOS app, do it from the browser instead, or another device.

Said it before, will say it again; This does not sound like the stoper from a year+ ago. Worse English, terrible sentence structure, terminology, typos.
Now the fun part; Not only did he (whoever he is) lie about remastering old scenes (which apparently took extra time), but now he's postponing them for after the release to have another excuse to basically not do anything for months and months. He's not gonna "work" on a new update, he's gonna "work" on some old ass renders and probably take 6 months to release 20 remastered images of Birch&Co after this update.
Also, his plan to approach development differently after this release is, looking at this devblog, obviously completely out the window. Not only is he not changing anything, he's gonna make it even worse by "working" on a remaster instead (which was supposed to be released with this next update).
Imagine telling your supporters all those lies about delays and the reasons for it, and then you're like "Nah, nevermind." but still need a year to release something. People actually gotta be braindead to still support this. lol
