There are types of developers I respect because they are honest about it and won't nickel and dime you for months on end without saying a word and release an update after a year's worth of 4 minutes of content. Take as long as you need to overcome the problems you need, I enjoyed your game

Has there been any news from the dev and will the dev switch subscribe star since patreon has been going on a censorship war with all several devs that make porn games and are somewhat associated with f95?

"Hello, everyone. I am still working on Juno's Task but will be working on it more in the background for now. So, I am putting the game On Hold. If I make any type of updates, it will be on here.

Do you get an error message, or does it just not start?

Can you run other Ren'Py games? Juno's Task is pretty straightforward coding-wise and shouldn't be any different.

Is your antivirus catching it as a false positive? Windows Defender does that a lot with Ren'Py games.

No error message. I have task manager open so when i click on it I can watch to see what is opening.

Yes I can open other Ren'Py games so don't know why it just this one that isn't opening.

My antivirus doesn't even make a peep when I try to open. There have been other games where it will popup with a window that warns about unknown developers and I have to click a link in window to get it to allow me to still open it but not even for this game.

It literally just doesn't open.

Hmm. Some total shots in the dark:

- Is your system 32-bit or Windows 7? Renpy recently dropped support for both IIRC, and your working games might be using older versions
- Maybe try updating your graphics drivers
- Is the game folder on a path that contains weird (non-English) characters?
- Is it in Program files or Program Files (x86)?

Other then that I've got nothing, sorry. Maybe look up troubleshooting for Ren'Py games in general, since Juno's Task is basically just straight scripting and doesn't do anything wonky code-wise that should cause a crash.

I have either windows 10 or 13 what ever is more recent but not the latest version. Its also 64-bit.
No
No I have it in an external hard drive but that hasn't caused any problems with any of the other games I have downloaded before.

See that's the thing is it doesn't even crash. No error message, no missing files message, doesn't open and say there is a problem and then close again. When I double click to open the game, task manager shows that there is activity but the game just never starts up.

So when I click the application within the game folder after unziping it. Task manager says that it starts Juno 5.1 program task but right after it gets replaced with a com surrogate before it all just stops. Happens every single time. Just to be clear that is base game, that isn't even with the walkthrough mod installed.

This turned out to be the problem. It had a few numbers and punctuation symbols mixed in to the file name. Once I cleared those where it was just junostask as the file name game started up just perfectly.
