Okay, this HAS to be more than a coincidence. The FIFTH picture is literally planet 'Evil' from the FIFTH Element. Love that film.

So, if this new game doesn't include a Ruby Rhod character, we I will riot.

Looks more to me like just a 'burning/soon to be destroyed planet. Seen a similar asset before plus, looks very much like a photoshop way of doing that effect. You could be right though with the inspiration, Anais very much a sci-fi fan.

Yeah, I know, you're right. Ultima Thule in FF14 had exact same thing in the middle too. Or Palaven from Mass Effect 3.

But hey, maybe (hopefully) it's Earth after Dom Kane marries Jules. They would make this planet great again by eradicating all life. A man can dream, after all.:devilish:

It is egg-shaped and not the typical rounded shape of a planet, although with so many billions of planets there must be one like it.
It also has nothing to do with it, but every time I see something metallic and artificial outside a celestial body, it reminds me of the Dyson Sphere .

Do you want to try Anais game? or do you not like vanilla so much after having seen so many witches perversions?

I don't care for that anyway so that's an aside for me, however, regarding Anais' VN, I will certainly 'try it', but given what the synopsis was for 'potential extra (male) wrters'....I can't say I'm terribly enthused about a VN set in 'a college/academy of sorts' with yet another young college aged MC. Does absolutely nothing for me and only play one VN now that fits similar descriptions as the rest are just...well...I'm sure you get what I'm saying.

One can only hope Anais and Tess only take ideas from the 'proposed extra writers' and the MC isn't a typical dumb ass moron who's never seen a naked women before. It will have to be immediately very special to interest me, KG related or not.

I didn't know it was going to be a school setting game, at least when I saw the pictures with the planets. I still think it's strange, as if the concept of going to school is very obsolete in a future with this kind of technology :ROFLMAO:.

I think he is jumping to conclusions based on having Academy at the end in title.(don't know full name)

All that was said is school dynamics, along with relationship building. It is supposed to be a Mass Effect, Persona 5, and Baldurs gate mix. It's described as a sci fi/fantasy journey, heroes journey(or maybe not)

So no really knows what the game is yet and no confirmation of a school setting, anything is just assumptions.

Well not really when you think about it. In such a future, kids still need an education, when they decide on/at a career choice age, they still need to learn things, want to pilot spaceships? Repair them? Work on systems tech to run the spacestation? Bot repairman? heh. So for me, there would still be all sorts of academies and college courses etc.

Liken it to one of Anais' favourite franchises, Mass Effect (which a lot of inspiration come from btw in terms of mechanics/choices), they still need educational facilities even in that universe. Hell, even in the Star trek universe there are still academies.

Sounds quite ambitious, a little too ambitious but we shall see

Does it sound like you're playing a 30yo retired professor not at school?

Someone who loves to try and call me out probably never saw some of the very first posts regarding this subject which have since been removed (I assume) to tidy up her channels on Tess' server.

I think fear of it being a generic university game is founded given how many there are and the varying degrees of success. I have no idea if it will do well or not and I'll play it out of sheer trust of Tess (and maybe boredom, who knows). Hopefully, the MC doesn't have some surprise background in MMA.

I think trying to hype it up with saying it's a Mass Effect, Persona 5 (why 5 and not the series in general? 4 is better narratively), and Baldur's Gate mix is a negative for me. Individually, I like all three franchises, but I think a little caution is advised when an indie developer wants to make some kind of amalgamation. It reeks of ambition. A little ambition is a good thing. Too much leads to all kinds of negative scenarios such as burnout, broken promises, or something akin to the launch of No Man's Sky.

I guess my overall attitude towards it is cautiously optimistic.

This. At the end of the day, it may be a massively over-saturated theme...but it's a theme that works with the demographic it's aimed at. Currently it's only saving grace (on that theme) is that Tess is the lead writer.

Precisely...and I have not knocked it, it may well turn out half decent, but if it is like every other 'similar type', it won't be for me. Simple as that.

It does however bring up a very interesting debate though, regarding the whole what is and isn't canon, subs being pissed with us doms saying dom is canon....what ending is and isn't canon etc etc....for me, this is like releasing a sequel to a book you haven't finished yet....KG and events will be referenced (maybe even opening choices, no real details yet). Regardless of what anyone says (even Tess saying 'there is no canon..which we know, deep down, she will have one from her original story)...

Anything referenced or mentioned in Anais' VN about KG....becomes canon (and we already know...Sparks tells visitors about how amazing Olivia was...going on out a limb that Sparks will be in it)

Because P5 is where the saga became famous and 80% of the players base got into it, although I agree that P4 is better (not counting the graphics).

As for BG, I've only played the classics 1 and 2, I still can't afford a PC gamer to run BG 3 and Mass Effect I've never played, all I know is that it's in space, with dialogues with lots of options, like Fallout or Dragon Age (and Shepard's meme "we'll bang, ok") :KEK:.

The renderings look good too, similar to Tess, did you see those nails?.

Not meant to be a boast or anything but I have Persona 3, 4, and 5 under my belt, (including Reload, Golden, and Royal) all three BGs, and every Mass Effect plus the Legendary Edition remaster. So when all of them are mentioned as influences, it just makes me raise an eyebrow. Especially Persona because I hope the only thing pulled from it are the moral issues and not mechanics like timeslots or confidant levels.

I'm sure we'll get more info over time that will answer a bunch of my internal questions but it's mostly just concern about ambition. Same reason I'm always keeping an eye on Ocean's stuff. It's great on paper but what will it look like five years from now when we're sitting on a 0.4 version of XXX Academy. That's not fair to Anais. I also have no real expectations and am just used to be slightly disappointed.

Side note: With nails like that, I hope this Academy is all voice operated cause touch screens and keyboards are fucked.
