I haven't played my Dom Kane path on K8 for two months now. IIRC, was there a path where you completely quit the game show and therefore didn't see any of that content (thousands of renders)?
Yeah you can choose to not participate in the game show, not too much missed in part 1, will probably miss much more in part 2 and 3.
That is correct. I have that on one of my saves purely to see how Tess handles it (does that Kane do much at all, does it affect future interactions with people etc etc as it is 'flagged') but Tess has explicitly stated that doing that you will miss a lot of Part 2.

Yeah, seems uneccessary to me...7 months for an update this size is fine to me. I'd just carry on as is for me, prefer to have a good meaty update than little bite sized things where barely any route gets content or only one path gets content. All swings and roundabouts really isn't it, both have pros and cons.

Need to have chosen/got Dominique as first sponsor to hit K7 there. There is another way of getting it but it's a little more convulated. It ultimately doesn't matter as it you meta the points Olivia will override Chanel's advice at the beach house and rank you up appropriately anyway.

Oh and is junko romance route really necessary? I only went for that to get k7 but as you said that still gets overridden so can i get k7/k8 without Junko romance route?
Just make sure you max your SisTeam points (Olivia)....providing you actually do align with her and will support her. If you don't then I don't think it is possible. Need to appease her to get her to give you max rank at the time.
Don't need her route for it no but it's the simplest/quickest way to get K7 'early'. However, once Dominique promotes you (when she shows you your 'upgraded accomodation'), the next morning Junko will visit you, you can just dump Junko at that point by refusing her 'services' with no repurcussions.
Continued the same playthrough as mentioned before and still landed k9. Olivia herself suggested to promote MC to k8 when Chanel recommend to leave him on k7.
