Didn't understand it anyway....there's worse on Steam. It does however now set a precedence going forward and possibly proactively that Steam may look into things more closely when specific countries decide to block the sale of said games.

For the record here Steam didn't care, it was three countries and due to the backlash the dev himself pulled his store page. However (again), this will cause certain authorities to look into things more closely once again (as has been done time and time before and let's not forget, one of Steams biggest markets is the US, where porn has always been a popular voter issue).

I honestly don't see what the connection here is to Karlsson's Gambit, where there is no incest or rape. Yes, sure, the sub route is effectively the way of the slave, but knowing how fashionable it's been in recent years to oppress cisgender heterosexual men, I somehow highly doubt that the Steam mods would be against dominant sadistic bitches and the sub boy Kane being abused by all those bitches. I bet the game will be skipped without question...

But in general, of course, a more duplicitous company than Steam has yet to be found. The platform that freely distributes hundreds of 2DjRPG porn games, where the female protagonist is subjected to endless rape and humiliation(non-con) trying to play morality , banning 3D AVN “No Mercy”.

Yes, yes, someone will say that 2D is neither 3D and doesn't count...But I don't think so...both 2D and 3D are fictional game universes and characters and if you have the same rules for 2D, then the same should apply for 3D AVN games. (imo)

I imagine she would be a bit concerned about what happened because this sort of backlash could lead to Valve revising some of their policy when it comes to adult content, but beyond that I really don't think Karlsson's Gambit will be affected. There is definitely a double standard...

Yes, that's true. But the question is whether the Steam mods (the patreon mods have made their choice to ignore it.) will pay attention or just turn a blind eye, because we're talking about "disgusting cisgender men", not the "heavenly and pure flowers" called women.

Because if the steam mods pay attention, Tess will have to rewrite and redo a huge pile of sub scenes and/or add tons of fake dialog options that will allow sub Kane to opt out of non-con stuff and thus respect the formality of player freedom of choice.

Idk Willis, I’ve seen some steam game that are… extreme… seems like steam is just subjective in a sense for certain projects.. and with Knowing how proactive Miss Tess is with (communicating with representatives, etc.) we Gucci but hey… who knows.. it’s a situation for the future not really the present !

I saw the game on Steam a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't have time to read the synopsis, I just saw the blonde on the cover and the title and put it on Follow.
Then everything blew up, I remembered the cover of the game but Steam doesn't sell it anymore , so I don't know what caused the mess, just that my account is one of the "perverse" ones that had it on save.
Well, I guess it's here on F95 too.
About your question, I think it will only affect one path in Tess's game, I write it below.

Oh come on. Essentially all the sex in this game is coerced; when it's not immediate and brutal rape it's assault via threats and blackmail and the constant snakepit of murderwhoreenforcers.

I mean, that's what makes it so good, but there's a sexual assault followed by a sexualised murder on a regular basis. It would be actually reasonable for people to have concerns about it being front page on a global mainstream service. (And that's what got No Mercy into trouble; it's one thing to have porn games available if you search and turn off a filter, but quite another to have Steam's algorithms actively push them into people's feeds. It's insane that Valve haven't spotted that obvious point.)

So if we imagine for a moment that Steam/Patreon's double standards have disappeared, what about sub Kane, playing as whom the player doesn't have the option to refuse to have one imposed on them?

Or are NPC more important to you than the feelings of a real player? Sure, there's a certain amount of sarcasm and humor in all of this, but think about it. The Dom path is not and never has been an abuser path, which cannot be said about the Sub path, where the victim is not "NPC dummies", but the player directly.

In good conscience, it would be fair to give the choice not only to Dom players, who already have it, but also to subs (even if some of those guys don't want it ).
