Kane should have been there, he was K8 already (or K9 I don't remember now), highest ranking and special case. Also started wearing full clothes at that point, so there was no reason to keep him away.

But It is nothing different than what Kane is already doing with Juliatte, Dominique and Alessandra-Celest-Phoebe on dom path. It was good place to get to know Nadia. Karlsson's sister can test Kane similarly they are doing till now. It was good opportunity for Kane to showcase, He is ready for seat among them by being ruthless and not getting concerned by any torture scene unfolding in front of him. Juliatte could have been impressed by Kane and Let him have sex with some worker bee like Chanel, Mercy, Raven. There are many scenario's.
I mean entire game, every scene has two direction good or evil since beginning. Dev decide to make it that way, so double work on every scene is given. Getting those 'dgame' point is all Kane is doing till now, so he could have done there too. Even good Kane with moral compass is currently present in currently going on gameshow, so what difference it would have made in that party.
I have Kane reject being a participant in as many of the gameshow events as possible, and it’s evidently not what the dev wants the player to choose as it just skips entire segments.
If you think of it, all the main characters except junko would be on the "hate list" For Dom Kane if we knew how they torchuring people below them, especially if those people are on the k1-k4 track. Even Kwawe's wife Amara is getting tortured without any ranking.

I actually played sub paths that too K1 exclusive path and K4 exclusive path. But, as all are cruel, Junko seemed to treat subs with somewhat soft but yeah she also acts like rude and ruthless.
There's actually very...little difference, whether you do the show or not (currently). Very little and no, it won't overly hurt you so far.
You analysis is good but I hope there will be a choice for Kane to punish Elena first. She is dangerous even if she is in good path.. I hate her how she treated sub Kane even though she is the best friend of Callista.
Punishing all the Karlssons i'd say is guaranteed specially in that bring down the karlssons path, but individually punishing some? That's harder to say because pretty much everyone not named Veronica probably deserves some punishment.
