I know who she is. I was waiting for her to show Kane around mine next day but it did not happened. I think this scene was deliberate so she can fail and Kane can punish her sexually and later give order to throw her down. Her failure is not Kane's failure, What Kane do with her could be his test.

Seems to me that Tess had different plans with Kiyomi initially where she was supposed to be more like her sister but then did a 180 on her and made her righteous. Unless I misunderstand the meaning, he implies that Tess has been pandering towards a group of people with a certain ideology collectively known as "woke". You know, like the people who demand to make Lara Croft and other video-game icons ugly because it would be more representative so they can relate to them. Some people in first world countries apparently ran out of real problems to solve, so they invent new ones in order to not get bored I guess.

Personally, I don't think it's true at all. Tess intentionally made and continues to make all girls as attractive as she can, and her theme of meritocracy (on the Dom route, at least) is in direct opposition to the cult of "woke".

Yeah it's all nonsense. Woke doesn't mean anything. Nobody is out there getting ugly characters in video games, yes people want more representation but that has literally always been true from the very beginning. Truth is, bigots get up in arms anytime a straight white male isn't the focus, and they invented "woke" as a dog whistle so they can complain about it without actually saying the problem out loud. Then other people believe the bullshit excuse and follow along, not understanding the real core complaint behind it. Dudes are used to gay people being completely unrepresented, and now that they get a little representation, it feels like they are the focus. But they aren't. The vast majority of movies and TV and video games do NOT star a gay protagonist. They just stand out because you're not used to seeing them. We heard the exact same shit about black people on TV in the 70s and 80s. Kirk kissing Uhura was the end of polite society, they cried. Once dudes get used to the fact that gay people exist and are just people, they'll move on. It will take a while, though.

Literally the only things about this game that might be considered woke is the fact that it has black characters and your ability to determine Olivia's sexuality. I don't think that way but those are the only examples that remote fit under the "woke" umbrella.
