After supporting the game through Patreon for 4 years, I've finally cancelled my pledge altogether and left their Discord server.
I talked with the lead dev. He is a great artist and has a certain vision for how he wants to present his art but he is simply immovable on the issues of the game's poor writing. In the end we will agree to disagree and I am moving on.

I was thinking about subbing again at least to access discord. Is there any more info coming from there, or same lackluster communication? I loved NN and really bummed about this game going more and more off the rails. And that is coming from a guy that can enjoy all the nonsense going on till Sabia gets fucked to bliss.

This is nuts, but nothing new. Have you heard of the guy who developed Stardew Valley? It's was quite a complicated project(custom engine, custom art, music, story, gameplay mechanics) and he finished it in just four years. And then I look at these guys.. Simply not on the same level. Where's passion? Determination? All I see is lust for money and abusing this stupid patreon milking technique. Sad time for video games(big and indie), really.

Nomo does have a vision for the story. Here are the problems:
- For over a year now, he's been working on the art assets for various locations the player will need to be able to visit in order to really progress the story. (this is not a bad thing, btw.)
The problem here is that he listens too much to a very vocal demographic of his supporters who misrepresent themselves as the majority of his fanbase while they drag the game through dirt because all they want is 'moar lewds!'

- The game's programmer procrastinates way too much. As others have complained about in the past, NDS takes a year to do three months' worth of work.

- The writer is awful at his job. Monsinne butters everyone up with lewd scenes but his and Nomo's idea of a sub path is a disgrace. The dialog is weak, too. There have been scenes involving orcs who talk, not like men in a fantasy medieval setting, but like a couple of guys in the real world who just stepped out of a bar after chasing down a few shots of bourbon with some pisswater beer. The narration and dialog often seem to not quite fit the game's setting.

- The game also has its share of feature creep. It's understandable if some features or planned features eventually need to be scrapped but Nomo and his writer have a habit of passive-aggressively abandoning features and side-story arcs without communicating it to the fans and supporters.

To sum up, Nomo is a great artist with a once-decent vision but he has allowed toxic fans, inept teammates and lack of proper communication to turn this game into a dumpster fire.

I wouldn't know how to ask this politely, so I'll just go straight to it: didn't Nomo and Sierra split because Sierra wanted to make a complex game, while Nomo just wanted a straight forward rape-on-defeat narration?

I'm not trying to be mean to Nomo, but I was a patron for a while, before the quality plunged, and I genuinely never even imaged Nomo could have enough ambitions of their own to risk any kind of "feature creep". I thought they were just lazy and incompetent.

I think that sounds accurate. There were creative differences. Sierra had big ideas for the game but Nomo and NDS disagreed.
Afterwards, they took on a hack writer and NDS spent way too much time procrastinating. Too many of Hreinn's remaining fans only seem to care about lewds, regardless of how repetitive the sex scenes get, so the story has gone down the drain.

How about reading the last 400 pages of discussion and let us have JUST ONE PAGE that doesn't involve whiny bullshit about sierra leaving, which was so long ago as to be irrelevant at this point.

You have to consider that Hrienn's supporters wait up to a year at a time for an update with very little communication from the Devs in their Patreon. In their Discord people talk about random bullshit or go on and on about mobile games they play together. The Dev has a habit of squashing actual group discussion about KoD.

I am the writer, thanks for the mention (didn't actually think my work would end up here).
The idea for the orgasm came from the actual game, as Neve states several times that Orcs are so girthy they stimulate a girl just fine if they're into rough pounding. Sabia refuses to comment, showing she's indeed into it, and several of the sex scenes where she gets fucked make her come from the stimulation after a while.
I liked your writing. Some of the details were a bit strange, for example i can't imagine an orc saying " doinkies-boinkies " without laughing, but the scenario fits the game. In my opinion, the length of the story was nice too: enough to contain hot details but didn't feel bloated or too short either. And i'm with you on this discussion too: Sabia has been shown to enjoy most of her scenes even if given the choice she would be more picky with her partners and boundaries.

Good job!

It's also good to see Nomo commissioning a short story like this. It shows that he likes the project.

will there be a public release yet?
The last patreon posts were about the art and variant packs. Those are patreon only, so we are waiting for a hero to share them here.
Aside from that there doesn't seem to be any information about the next patch.

I will never understand why there are people whining and posting about people who whine and post. I mean, it's like people who rant about bad drivers while driving with a coffee in the hand with too much speed on the bus lane.

Only people with less braincells are those that go around asking "when update" on every game, thankfully there's a block feature.

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I was too entranced by Telepurpe's "Oh these" when writing ^^

That's... that's alarming, to be honest. Imagine suppressing people who cared about your craft in favor of groups of people that played some random game together.
