So are the devs gonna keep making this game until end of time or have they ever mentioned moving on to a new project?
This game isn't even 20% finished lmao. They'll likely keep milking it till there's a downwards trend in their Patreon funding, after which they'll announce a new game and a new, clean slate which will see their Patreon $$$ doubling overnight.

This game deserves better. I can't believe it ended up like this.

But there is one saving grace: If you're making your own game, similar to this one, you can learn from all the massive amounts of mistakes made with this game, so you don't make the same mistakes with your own game. In that, Kingdom of Deception is the ultimate learning experience of what to do, and what not to do when making a porn game. It has a lot of pros, but 3-4 times more cons sadly.

EDIT: Okay, Sabia gets groped by the Orc bar gropers, yet you don't get the option to let her actually go to the tents and get fucked by them. After getting fucked by the Orc bar gropers, Sabia should have the option to recruit them into her army; convincing them to switch allegiance. Killing them is anti-climactic given the fact it's a porn game FFS. They should add two options, let Sabia get fucked by them, or have them killed. Then let the player choose what they want.

At this point it's pretty safe to say that this game won't get better it'll only get worse into eventual abandonment.
Time to accept this.
Current Patreon chart stands at 659, the lowest peak. It is 50 less than it was one month ago. There has been no update during March, probably cause no real progress has been made on the game. They get a small raise when they post stuff but, only temporarly. The less progress they make, the less money they get, the less work they put into this. This will fade away but i do hope Nomo will end up working on some other project.

Also he might accept Sierra help is needed to bring the project back to life, and get a new coder for the game. We all know Nomo art is the only interesting thing left in here. Although he has been making some terrible decisions lately

LMAO holy fuck that's a drop and a half.

Correction: The patreon was nearly 750 when the patch first dropped, then fell down to ~720 when it became public. Last week I distinctly remember checking it for the laughs and seeing it hover around 708 or so.

To think it's now at 657 is honestly great, because maybe, just maybe, it'll force the devs to stop being lazy. But even if they do fix things up, I think they will just revert back to lazy whenever they get their numbers back up.

Maybe someone who is good at writing can take this project I really want to see an end for this game.. doesn't deserve to be abandoned
Would need somebody who knows how to code the game too. The game has enough unused assets to allow one coder and a writer to develop a few patches on their own. Given how much stuff the devs recycle, you could take it a step further and recycle other scenes and you could go on for a lot of time.

The problem with this is that you're talking about a team of two putting no small amount of work into a project that cannot be monetized and will likely result in swift action by Hreinn. It's extremely unlikely on a good day.

A lone writer taking on the game's story and wrapping it up for fun is far more feasible, but it ultimately isn't as good without the CGs to help add flavour to the whole thing.

Overall, I think it's better to just realize that games aren't always meant to have a conclusion, whether it is due to the fault of the creators or something else, shit happens, and not every game is going to get to the Completed tag. I would heavily prefer to see KoD receive proper care and regular updates, but I have accepted that even if the devs were forced to change by way of Patreon $$$ drying up, they've clearly lost what made Hreinn Games great in the past, and it doesn't seem like there will be a return to form.

They could begin by posting a written update on the new patch progress once a month. Like how insane is it that former patreon milkers like 3diddly and DecentMonkey are now updating games on time and giving regular updates on patreon, and Hreinn who used to be so reliable are just perma radio silent on the game and take 5+ months for every update. No scratch that, every quest. How hard is it to write a post of 200 words with an art piece and say "yeah sorry guys this small quest is going to take 8 months again, next time its gonna be different".

Because they have no real update to make. They do not put much effort into development, which is why updates got slower and slower, while also having less and less content. They could just make an update saying: " we are working at it, we did X progress" but they don't, because no real progress has been made. Assets are made already, if they did something they would have updated the game already. The amount of work you can do in 30 days is gigantic, even with just one hour of work a day

It looks and feels to me, like the game they wanted to make is just too big and complicated for them.
If I was them, I'd apologies to the supporters and fans, and then start over but make the game smaller (and not a VN).

I think the VN angle fits quite well for the sort of narrative that Hreinn used to be good at. But I think that's more due to Sierra's style of writing than anything.

Personally, I highly doubt that, if they're failing this hard at making a VN, they'd be capable of making a full-fledged game with gameplay mechanics to worry about. But then again, their current writer, whose name I have already forgotten yet again, is just not good enough to write a VN, that much is clear if one were to look at how the game's narrative and characterization absolutely plummeted the moment he took the reins. Hell, just look at this most recent update, he had nearly a full year or something to write an update that'd blow minds. Instead, he ended up overusing the 'breaking her in' trope and made every character read like they were ripped out of a Sonic fanfic.

Honestly, I don't know what Hreinn could make that'd be good, they've shown themselves to be lazy, incompetent, and unable to filter out bad/nonsensical/contradictory writing without the presence of a proper writer like the one they had before. No matter what they make, as long as their mentality remains the same, the result will be shit.
