Seems like the issue is mostly scriptside. Which makes sense. Because most of the game's problems are scriptside.

I'mma clue you in on an element of professional writing. Hiring freelance writer is hard. It's not just that not everyone is talented. But, also, not everyone can write at a professional pace.

My guess is, Nomo is probably hearing delays writer side. There is almost certainly delays with the scripts. There is likely deadlines not being met. Plus, the move from revshare to comissions probably makes a reward that relies entirely on paying fot lots of extra text much less feasible. Assuming that he did move to revshare, that is. If he's a madman, he's switched to volunteer labor.

Trade secret. Do not rely on volunteers. Just pay someone. Your life will improve.

Their way they've been scripting the game has changed a lot. They've been learning as they went along, I guess.

The code in the newer releases is much cleaner and more streamlined than the crap they wrote in the earlier releases. The reluctance to revisit older scenes probably has something to do with this.

Except that most of the bonus scenes were from the first or second most recent updates when they were releases, and it basically would just be "write new dialogue and put in the image layers" with no real need to actually touch the old scene's coding. Now, if they were bad or inconsistent at tracking what part of an image is on what layer then it'd be hard. That's what I got from the update, that the images was the sticking point.

Tbh I dont think they are getting enough money to pay 3 people at the same time, that might be one issue.
You need someone for art, someone for writing and someone for the programming part, at least if youu want to work efficiently.

I know they have one person for all of those, although idk the pay basis. But I know not all of them are full time. So there is probably a bottleneck. That being said, I dont pay that much attention to it these days, there also doesnt seem as much interaction on the discord - dev to patrons - as there once was.

They are still miles ahead of most other patreon funded games tho.

by the post, 0.10 sounds awful, there will be new scenes for characters that nobody cares about like Maply, Kia, Bris
I am pretty sure if these scenes are the one being developed it is by demand of the patrons. I know some who like the characters so its not out of the question, and some patrons pay quite a lot, so they have some large input on dev priorities.

Finally someone who isn't in full armchair developer mode o.o

Everyone's an expert until they realize how much effort is involved in just part of making a game. I'll fully say I could maybe do the art given another year or six of practice, I could do the writing if I suddenly had no uni schedule and was being y'know, paid, and I absolutely could not do the programming.

All these people thinking it's a bunch of lazy arses freeloading or taking their sweet time are... well...

It is best to do nothing but take money for half a year, to later release a pathetic update that was supposed to be something bigger. Nomo draws great and should focus on it, then wasting talent on games is pointless.

Creators should limit most dialogues by focusing on specific content. The events must be more dynamic, everything can not revolve around one village. They must move on, otherwise Hreinn Games will not last long and hire someone who knows Ren'Py or switching to RPGM.

this is something I said a long time ago. Renpy doesn't work for this kind of game they have in mind, this large world with several places to visit, RPG combat mechanic, RPG stats, RPG story and so on, for which RPG Maker is ideal and they already had experience with that engine. Even with RPG maker you can customize alot, you can make your own tiles, parallax maps and much more. Renpy is the engine for virtual books that have some kind of branching and just want to tell you an interactive story.
