That does not make much sense to me. They are having problems in the story department, not art. Cancelling bonus art may be indeed an attempt to focus on the game.
i mean i agree with you i hope so too but it took them 1 and a half months to come to that conclusion with no communication?? Anyway i hope someone posts the update cause i am curious on what they have to say

Update Post
Hey everyone. There will be news regarding the future of art/variant pack rewards at the bottom of this post. That said, art/variant packs will be out within a few days for those that are on the respective reward tiers.

For things coming in 0.10 that have been completed so far:
- Follow up for drinking with Neve in the bar.
- We get to see a snippet into what Lynn is planning, and her interactions with Andian.
- Ornshakar ritual lead-in (for the patron pic scene).
- Maply finally gets to look after her best friend full time.
- Quest with Kia, Bris and the tentacle monster. Includes a few additional dom options for those pursuing a dominant Sabia. (And to help balance out the sub and dom content).

Things that we still want to include for 0.10:
- Adding more interactions to the Whitecrest villages, and Amelia.
- Kira/Bandit camp - plans to include a quest relating to another bandit camp (this one is much more prepared, and more more proficient than Sabia's last run-in with an opposing bandit camp).
- The captains each have a lead in and quest for Sabia. With the adjustments to the combat system, we are planning to have a unique fight with unique mechanics for each path that reflects the theme of each quest. Nds is working on the fights.

Variant Packs future:
We've found internally that the variant packs are bottleneck for us. With so many layers for scenes, going back and familiarizing once again with them requires a fair bit of time. We feel that this is time better spent on working on entirely new content and being able to focus entirely on the next patch, instead of rehashing already completed scenes. To this end we will be retiring the Variant Packs as a reward. We want to offer a replacement for this and have some ideas. For those on the $25+ tiers that this affects, we will release an additional post detailing more information and some ideas we have when we release the the 0.9 art/variant packs.

Thank you for your support guys.

"Plans for a bandit camp quest that leads to another bandit camp". ...like, seriously? thats the best they could come with?
I dont care about Amelia or whitecrest at all. First, they present you with orcs and their brute force, then you meet with with hellhounds, then you meet Makor, tentacle monster and even a minotaur and bam, here are humans! -.-
also even after the year and months ive been here, I still do not understand why ppl change stuff midway. what was wrong with the previous combat/fighting that they need to change it? Okay, not that big of a deal, its a porn game not a combat simulator but still...

yea I dont have high hopes for that update... nothing really catches my eye, except that maply will be back and also the new tentacles event, but only because there's kia involved.

If not making bonus packs will REALLY make the wait time periods reasonable and justified; ultimately improving the game as well then I'm fucking down with that if not and it's just another scamzz then I'll get simply disappointed once again.

Seems like the issue is mostly scriptside. Which makes sense. Because most of the game's problems are scriptside.

I'mma clue you in on an element of professional writing. Hiring freelance writer is hard. It's not just that not everyone is talented. But, also, not everyone can write at a professional pace.

My guess is, Nomo is probably hearing delays writer side. There is almost certainly delays with the scripts. There is likely deadlines not being met. Plus, the move from revshare to comissions probably makes a reward that relies entirely on paying fot lots of extra text much less feasible. Assuming that he did move to revshare, that is. If he's a madman, he's switched to volunteer labor.

Trade secret. Do not rely on volunteers. Just pay someone. Your life will improve.

Their way they've been scripting the game has changed a lot. They've been learning as they went along, I guess.

The code in the newer releases is much cleaner and more streamlined than the crap they wrote in the earlier releases. The reluctance to revisit older scenes probably has something to do with this.

Except that most of the bonus scenes were from the first or second most recent updates when they were releases, and it basically would just be "write new dialogue and put in the image layers" with no real need to actually touch the old scene's coding. Now, if they were bad or inconsistent at tracking what part of an image is on what layer then it'd be hard. That's what I got from the update, that the images was the sticking point.

Tbh I dont think they are getting enough money to pay 3 people at the same time, that might be one issue.
You need someone for art, someone for writing and someone for the programming part, at least if youu want to work efficiently.

I know they have one person for all of those, although idk the pay basis. But I know not all of them are full time. So there is probably a bottleneck. That being said, I dont pay that much attention to it these days, there also doesnt seem as much interaction on the discord - dev to patrons - as there once was.

They are still miles ahead of most other patreon funded games tho.

by the post, 0.10 sounds awful, there will be new scenes for characters that nobody cares about like Maply, Kia, Bris
I am pretty sure if these scenes are the one being developed it is by demand of the patrons. I know some who like the characters so its not out of the question, and some patrons pay quite a lot, so they have some large input on dev priorities.

Finally someone who isn't in full armchair developer mode o.o

Everyone's an expert until they realize how much effort is involved in just part of making a game. I'll fully say I could maybe do the art given another year or six of practice, I could do the writing if I suddenly had no uni schedule and was being y'know, paid, and I absolutely could not do the programming.

All these people thinking it's a bunch of lazy arses freeloading or taking their sweet time are... well...
