It looks and feels to me, like the game they wanted to make is just too big and complicated for them.
If I was them, I'd apologies to the supporters and fans, and then start over but make the game smaller (and not a VN).
I think the VN angle fits quite well for the sort of narrative that Hreinn
used to be good at. But I think that's more due to Sierra's style of writing than anything.
Personally, I highly doubt that, if they're failing this hard at making a VN, they'd be capable of making a full-fledged game with gameplay mechanics to worry about. But then again, their current writer, whose name I have already forgotten yet again, is just not good enough to write a VN, that much is clear if one were to look at how the game's narrative and characterization absolutely plummeted the moment he took the reins. Hell, just look at this most recent update, he had nearly a full year or something to write an update that'd blow minds. Instead, he ended up overusing the 'breaking her in' trope and made every character read like they were ripped out of a Sonic fanfic.
Honestly, I don't know
what Hreinn could make that'd be good, they've shown themselves to be lazy, incompetent, and unable to filter out bad/nonsensical/contradictory writing without the presence of a proper writer like the one they had before. No matter what they make, as long as their mentality remains the same, the result will be shit.
