Is there a date for the next update or an estimated time in which it could drop?
Ah yes, dear friend, it seems like you are drawn to some of the best aspects of the game's worldbuilding that Sierra Lee wrote into it when she was still on the team. This is what really drew me in from liking to loving this game (back in the beginning) and is something i enjoy reading and thinking through in her other games, novels, and writing.

The TLDR is that the developers are really shit at any communication, and take huge amounts of time between releases. The past few releases have also been filler, which is like 2 or 3 releases over the last 2ish years.

Game is practically dead. Last real update was more than 2 years ago, main artist basically vanished,
main coder is incompetent and main writer an idiot.
Mind sharing the projects you worked on? I assume you have an amazing track record when calling others incompetent or names.

KoD was in development since 2017 and never got half finished. Go back and read this thread from the beginning for all the details.
I'm sorry, but would you mind if i directed your attention to the title of this thread? It seems to clearly indicate that the topic here is what project Hreinn is working on, and more specifically how and if they are developing KoD.
Wouldn't going into his resume be off topic? And why exactly would he need more credentials than the fact that he's been a fan for years to share his point of view?
You naturally, have the right to disagree with him as well, but in that case it would be beneficial to everyone present if you shared your reasons for disagreeing with his assessment.
Just to establish the facts of the situation:
There have been no official new art from the artist of the team in the last 2 years.
The writer decided to work 1+ year on a filler bad end instead of fleshing out or developing existing content.
The coding has very obviously caused months of delays in past releases and even without that, currently there is just nothing to code without new art or writing.
So given these facts, how would you describe the situation?

I still don't think the text is that bad....
Despite the fact that I don't know the language very well, I didn't find the text that bad.
Of course, that doesn't excuse sloppy coding, plot garbage, and the abolition of freedom of choice.
And it certainly doesn't justify such huge breaks in updates.

The writing was good when SierraLee was still part of the team, but things went noticeably downhill when she left Hreinn to do her own stuff ( books/games ) and the "new" guy ( Monsinne ) is writing at the level of a very thirsty teenager who turned Sabia basically into a dumb bimbo.

Unfortunately, this is largely true.
Damn, I love bdsm and submission themes, but here...
I'll give you an example with the main cat girl (forgot her name) at the very beginning when she tells you what she knows about Manticore.
She and a couple of orcs are blackmailing Sabia. And Sabia in the pitch script... Is afraid of the orcs?
Is it okay that she has already killed several of them ( 10-20? )? And will kill many more in future events.
And the fact that she passed the arena?
I would understand if she was poisoned or drugged first.
Or started the scenario of slowly subduing the proud girl, but...
No, Sabia is immediately let loose and total fucking begins, and it happens in all scenes and episodes, and the heroine immediately turns from an interesting warrior into a squealing sissy.
And this is where the most unfortunate “magic” happens
1 Whip and lash.
Sure, I don't really like this super lightning-fast approach to total submission, but maybe I'd put up with it if there were well-drawn scenes.
But the scenes in the tent, the orc training scenes, and the scenes in the store - they're... “not good.”
So the end result was, on the one hand, a poorly drawn event for me, and on the other hand, not a good drawing.
2 Version 0.14.
Well, I'm going to get tired of Sabia on the submission path too quickly, because now I have no choice, and so for the next 86 updates (minimum, maximum 200-300) I'm going to have to watch a constantly crying and groveling weakling.
That's going to bring things to a dead end too quickly (if it hasn't already), it's weird that some people don't realize that.
Same with the dominance route.
3 Version 0.14 Again.
Well, if Sabia became such a submissive and humiliated wimp in version 0.14, I just can't imagine what she'll be like in version 0.30 or..... 0.40.
Hopefully in 0.50 she'll still remember words other than “dick” and “fuck”.
It's all very sad, it was one of my favorite games and now I'm not even sure I'll be able to play it if a new update comes out.
It's lost what I loved about it and I'm left to ponder about it.

The problem there is more evidence of Monsinne's shitty writing.
Update after update, Sabia gets raped and gangbanged to oblivion. Then afterwards, she carries on with a degree of wit, confidence and self esteem as if the rapes and gangbangs never happened.

You know what, you deserve a proper answer so I just checked again:
Their last "real" update with unique art and continuation of the story was 0.13.2... September 11, 2022.
That's almost two and a half years, if you don't count these sloppy top-down scenes and the fillers with re-used art.
Last patreon post was August 13, 2024... half a year ago. This was the "filler update" with reused assets and the only "update" in 2024. No further posts since then and no answers on questions in the comments of this last post.

To summarize everything:
- Nomos art gradually worsened from update to update to the point he basically disappeared.
- Ndsferrari is after almost 10 years of working with Ren'Py still not capeable of doing more than basic coding.
- Monsinne is just a coomer with a bimbo fetish and the narrative skills of a writer in the Marvel Cinematic Univese.
(and oh boi, do we know how that ended, don't we?...)
- They didn't deliver a descend update in 2.5 yrs, they do not communicate at all, but they still charging their patreons.
So yes, I call them names all day long. Because even the most gullible wanker can see what's going on with them.

Yeah, Sabia now routinely forgets what happened to her yesterday, what she wanted to do a few days ago, what she's been through in the past few months and even her own backstory. and who she is.
She is a combat veteran yet if a random orc is angry at her she freezes up and can't do or think anything.
She is a military commander, but she has no idea how to handle 4 orcs other than just to let them abuse her even tho she will need to rely on them later to follow her orders.
She is a member of a prominent noble house in a corrupt empire, yet she can't see through the saturday morning schemes of a young catgirl or a backwater shaman and even a shopkeeper can outsmart her now.
She spent months living among horny orcs, but whatever they could want from her when she is half naked?
Every nameless orc just got upgraded with a lifetime supply of erection and can last for days and cum 20 times into her in one session, but she doesn't expect the same thing to happen next day.
The "latest" story where she tries to train new troops shows all of this perfectly. It would have been fine if she offered nudity or sex as a reward or had to offer it to handle the situation. It would have been fine is poor decisions could spiral things out of control and Sabia ended up being abused depending on your choices. But Sabia never even had control, because she couldn't be bothered to meed the new troops, let alone recruit them herself and left every preparation to an orc she couldn't really trust.

i just checked and i first played this game in 2021 and 3.5 years later we've only had 2 and a half updates with new content.
