There are actually two more places where you train Sabia's troops: In the camp outskirts you do some drills and promote one of three choices, then at the purple marker labeled "base encampment" you get another option to either give them a pep talk, or you can let them gangrape Elmy if you enslaved the catgirls. You need to do both of these events for Sabia's squad to be fully trained.

If you can't do these, or if you've done these and still can't progress the game, upload your save file and I'll take a look.
I have already promoted the warrior and used the pep talk (I definitely did not enslave the catgirls).

Thank you for taking the time to check this.

Oh, talking about the base encampment... Is there any point to test formations? I randomly organise my various troops, then click on "Exit" and...that's it? Is that a feature that will be implemented later?

Alright, so I went through all the variables that are checked to advance the story, and was very confused that they were all at the correct values... so I rested in the tent just to test it and sure enough, it worked.

So the only thing I can think of that could be causing this is your copy of the game is broken somehow, or you're running an old version by mistake. Redownload and unzip the game and try that. You should just have to go to your tent and rest. If you get the message "For just a moment, Sabia thought she was back in the middle of the minotaur war", you know you're in the new content. If that doesn't work, then I'm stumped.

The way the raiding system works is, it's a stat check against the combined total stats of all the troops you assign to a particular "task." Testing formations just lets you mix and match troops to see what their various combined stat totals are. It doesn't do anything else.

Just to expand on this, make sure to delete/move/rename the old folder before extracting the new one, it seems like overwritting sometimes causes issues with this game, I had the same problem when I first downloaded the 0.7 content.

That was exactly my thoughts when I read Viressa's confirmation that everything should have been working. I did this and it worked perfectly. I just finished the new update thanks to this action.

So, thanks to the both of you for the advice (and the info about the formations).

Not that it matters, cause it stinks an awful lot like the raiding system is gonna be scrapped anyway. Which, I'll admit, is one thing I won't miss. It's an overcomplicated, underdesigned mess. So many numbers that don't do anything but add noise to the system, and the actual causes of success and failure are completely opaque unless you open up the game code to figure out what you actually have to do to succeed at each raid. Not to mention how you can completely fuck yourself if you make "wrong" story choices (poor, poor Solo Sabia route).

is it confirmed that it gets scrapped?

Well, no, I'm just inferring based on the direction of the last update. No new raid missions at all, and several of the choices you make that affect the raid system are overridden (for example, you're railroaded into freeing the catgirls, regardless of what other choice you made before).

It's also clear to me that the new team is interested in a very linear, focused story. There are no choices to make or branching paths at all in 0.7 except for the ones that lead to bad ends.

A more linear story is exactly what they need, after almost two years of updates Sabia is still stuck in the orc camp...
The world map they showed once is massive, can't wait to explore it.

I started now 3 times a new game and used everytime a current Walkthrough and did every single mission, but I cant start the "Chaos in the Camp" mission, when I talk to Maply nothing happens. Anyone got some tips or help? Or maybe a save data wher I can start the "Chaos in the Camp" mission? I already talked to every available person and they had no missions for me.

It's probably what happened to me: you should extract the game again in a completely new folder and transfer your saves in it. Some old file must get in the way of this event's triggering.

So these probably won't be as popular as the fanfic mod but I was bored today and decided to clean up some of my other personal use modifications to the game for public consumption.

Cheat Menu v0.1:

Adds a cheat menu to Sabia's tent so I don't have to input the same console commands over and over everytime I start a new game where I wanna cheat my ass off. Get money, stats, and even get Sabia's original armor from the start of the game back. (I even modded all the scenes in the game which have different dialogue depending on what outfit you're wearing to have special dialogue if you're wearing her original armor, because I'm literally an autist.)

Fuck the Combat v0.1:

The duel system is honestly fine for what it is but once you've done one legitimate playthrough of this game you don't really need to do these battles again. Replaces the duel system with a simple win/lose prompt. KNOWN ISSUE: Duels you can't actually win, like the fights against Lutvrog with his gear, behave oddly when you use this mod. Won't break anything, the dialogue just won't make sense for that scene.

Fuck the Raids v0.1:

Removes the raiding system from the game (except for the "Test Formations" feature) and alters the dialogue so the story plays out as if you had min-maxed your troops appropriately to get the best possible outcome for each raid. There are currently no scenes/bad ends that result from doing badly at raids, just non-h game overs: When I update this mod for future versions I'll make sure there's a choice to lose on purpose for the sake of porn, if such paths are added. Note that story-based factors, like if you got help from Kia to do Rokgrid's quest, are still relevant. I've only tested this on a solo route and a rokgrid route so let me know if you have any problems on a Tekrok or Darjab playthrough, but they should work.

All of these mods are designed to work independently and be compatible with each other, the fanfic mod, the JDMod, and the fused JDMod + Fanfic mod combo pack. Install whichever you want.

Just saying this again, all of my modding put together, the fanfic mod included, is maybe 1% the time and effort of an actual update. (And imma be honest, I push out the fanfic mod updates pretty much as soon as I'm done writing the first draft and testing the scene to make sure nothing's broken, I don't put them through the weeks or months of revisions I do with my professional work.)

I didn't know about config.label_overrides.update. It's nice, thanks!

I updated the JDMOD to be more compatible with @Viressa's fanfic mod. As long as Viressa makes some minor changes to the fanfic mod, you'll be able to use both, together or separately. I'll need to update the JDMOD manually to add Viressa's new scenes to the gallery, like I do for Hreinn Games' bonus scenes.

@Viressa:
I made a few changes to the fanfic mod:
  • Replaced all occurences of:
Python:
    if gallery_workaround == True:
        jump gallery
    return
by
Python:
    if gallery_workaround == True:
        jump JDMOD_gallery_bonuses
    return
  • Line 956: Added scene bg silvertusk because the scene felt weird without a background.
In order to keep the two mods compatible, I would appreciate if you could apply those changes to all the future versions too.
.

No problem. I'm surprised that first change worked on my non-JDMOD testbed, I assumed that Renpy tries to resolve all the jumps at startup. Guess it doesn't.

Further proposal: You can do viressa_fanfic_installed = False in the JDMOD's init 1 block, and I can do virssa_fanfic_installed = True in my fanfic mod's init 2 block. Then you can use that variable to determine whether the fanfic mod is installed, and show/hide the fanfic scenes in the gallery based on that. That way, our mods will just automatically work together so long as they're both installed without users needing to install a special combo pack build.
