Thats why you have multiple routes, slut route she becomes a puppet or cumbucket gameover. Dom route she makes her army gets revenge and uses the orcs for her own gain. Wheew that was tough....so strained my wrist writing that.

Writing is very formulaic ;) The same as making music. There are equations for a bit that will be liked by majority(Pachelbel's canon for example). The same comes to writing a story. And what writer thinks is one thing, but what viewers want to see is second(first).

Supposedly, Nomo came up with the characters and the broad outline of the plot, Sierra's job was to flesh that outline out. Who knows how true this actually is, of course.

These things do happen, but I think they've lost too much trust now, because it seems their patrons are starting to get fed up.

yeah i saw that msg, the problem is not the delay, the problem is they take 3 months for making the new version and even after 3 months they havent even finished beta testing and what we get in result is worth at best 1 month content, i mean if they would add alot of new scenes and a good advance in story then no one would complain! and everyone will end up happy, but right now they keep making everyone thirstier and thirstier and in the end all they give is couple drops of water instead of a glass of water.

anyway, whole beauty of KOD was its story and the art(specifically sabia) ofcourse, i just hope they do finish the main story the proper way and dont ruin it by writing tomany cheap different side stories or dropping the game before finishing it.

EDIT: to be 100% honest, personally the only reason i want new version is 30% for advance in sabia story and 60% is to see Viressa new content for it! and finally 10% to see sabia getting fucked in her arabic dancer outfit! because it was DAMN DISAPPOINTING in last update to see only 1 scenes with that outfit where she just stay there and get ass slapped >.>

The technicalities of creation are indeed relatively formulaic, if only because there's only so much you can do with the available language and instruments and whatever while still remaining coherent and intelligible (not that some composers and visual artists didn't regard the latter as quite optional ofc.)
But that's not how art works as eg. any number of mediocre to terrible formulaic movies, songs, novels etc. only too readily attest to; making something memorable and worthwhile (in brief, "good") with that technical toolkit is where the presence or lack of real skill, creative drive and talent makes a very obvious difference.

The bummer about all of this for anyone who's followed this group for awhile is Noxian Nights didn't have these problems at all and KoD started off with such promise. Communication and consistency just fell off over time.

Considering in 2018 Sierra did this, a sequel to Crimson Gray, Desecration of Wings, and released two books on Amazon it's clear where the issue is after these last two rounds.

I'm only sending them a $1 a month so big picture it's nothing. I spent $60 on a bottle of whiskey that'll be gone soon enough yesterday. But after a repeated pattern it's probably just best to never expect much from the 3 month release period and the amount of content it provides.

Like I said it's just a bummer because Hreinn Games used to be such an easy thing to support in a sea of failed or cash grab projects on Pateron.

Yes, what sucks is that NN was so great and KoD showed such promise and then just slowly disintegrated. It had multiple paths, which Sierra has showed she can handle well, not only in the above works but especially in The Last Sovereign, it had Nomo's art, it had an interesting premise... and now its more than 3 months between updates and people are more excited for fanfiction mods than the actual work itself.
