The difference is EX adds several personalities, clothing items, positions, and one location. They are the same game, but EX is an expansion to it, hence EX.
I'm running 28 without issue, 24GB of DDR4 RAM. Also, comparing Cyberpunk, a game that pretty much requires dedicated graphics, to any Illusion game, games designed NOT to require dedicated graphics, is a bit unfair.
Koikatsu takes place at a school and has 4 different girls with their own story lines.
Sunshine takes place at a vacation resort and has 1 girls with her own story line.
In Koikatsu you increase your friendship with other girls by talking to them.
In Sunshine you increase your friendship with other girls by looking around the island for "topics" which you can then use when interacting with them. Talking still works but is slow.
Koikatsu has the option for mmf which was removed in Sunshine.
Sunshine has additional sex positions (I believe there are mods that port them back to Koikatsu though).
Koikatsu has better performance than Sunshine, especially the load times (your mileage may vary).
Character cards are compatible between both games.
So I got version 6 of the repack, is there a place I can get characters since the in game download function still isn't working?
To clarify, character cards from Koikatsu are able to be imported into Sunshine. Compatibility does not go the other direction. Sunshine cards are not compatible with the original Koikatsu game.
They technically are. You open the character creator in the original game and drag a Sunshine card over to it. The card will load but if it's a girl she'll load in with a male body and her vital information will be gone(name, preferences etc). You just add that stuff back, change her body to female(her sizes are saved so you don't need to mess with those) and the card works fine. Her clothes will be in different slots because the two games have different setups for that but otherwise everything is fine.
I wouldn't say removed, more like they just never included it. MMF was with the Darkness DLC, which they may or may not make an equivalent of for this game at some point.
Also, important note about character card compatibility for anyone who doesn't go searching, the compatibility is only one way. You can put them in Koikatsu Sunshine, but they won't be able to be used in the original after that.
You could try the Discord, BepisDB is also usually pretty good and has a search that works like a lighter version of the best old Artificial Academy 2 card sharing site.
Unfortunately, which is one of multiple issues I have come across with the design of this game.
That's not compatibility, that's making a new card through the drag and drop mod. Compatibility would be the ability for both games to read the same data from the card like AI Shoujo and Honey Select 2 can do for each other.
maybe someone here can help me out. cant get the game to start. it started up fine the first time, but now it simply wont start. attempting to run the application, even as administrator and my pc just stares at me like im stupid. tried running through initsetting, the intisetting menu starts just fine, click on the button to run game, it dumps the initsetting like its going to start then just does nothing.

First thing to do it to check your antivirus. Japanese game exe not starting is often a sign the AV is seeing it as a weak thread and killing it without deleting the exe as soon as it start.
What am I supposed do with the sideloader modpack? Do I need to put it in the same folder as the game or is it a separate thing?
i took a look but it doesnt appear to be anywhere in my antivirus registry. its not even initializing the program, when i try to start the game.
Put it in the Mods folder, but it will have no effect on the game, it is only for the studio.
It's a mod that allows the player to drag a character card onto the game window to load the data.

Point to check :
1) did you move the game folder or rename it since first launch ? if yes, use the registry fixer exe that come with the better repack version or the HF patch.
2) Does your path folder name is long (I think that window limit is at about 216 characters - and kanji are store at 2 digit number and a symbol per kanji). So if your path is long or contain kanji you might want to retry after moving the game folder closer to the HDD root / renaming it and using the registry fixer.
3) try using forced admin mod
4) if you install the game selecting a game language different from your local setting you might want to try using tool lie LE or NTLEA to launch it emulating the installation language
5) Did you update the game since first starting it ? if yes, there might be a bug during update and you might want to do a clean install
6) It might just be that a corrupted file is forcing the game to shut down. You can try by deleting the save folde (backup) and restart the game. Else, maybe try a repair ?
Can anyone explain what the different "Interests" in the character maker do?
Eg. Playtime, Nature, Fishing, Tourism, H Love.
