Were he dead, I don't think his Patreon payments would be continuing. Dude's making over two hundred bucks a month on this; which isn't a lot of money for dedicated work on a project, but is a ton of money when you haven't done a damned thing in a year and a half. Assuming he's dead s far more of a shot in the dark than "he quit working on it but decided to leave his Patreon going so he'd have money coming in until people gave up and/or remembered that they were subscribed to him." Happens all the time with these games.

I wouldn't bother. I specifically avoided bringing up that there was a cash incentive to not publicly announce dropping the project because I didn't want it to come off as an insult to Vren, and still had a couple paragraphs of text reduced to two words that were takeout of context in the most disingenuous way possible to try supporting their position of "there's no way of knowing what could have happened, so all possibilities are equally valid and I will continue to push my personal headcanon as the one possible truth." Unless you have a "hard fact" there's no discussion to have.

Why stop there? Make you foreplay skill = 100 and a girl cums from a handshake. Make your Research skill = 1000 and knock side-effects chances to zero in one pass. Etc, etc.

Using that I've completely bypassed every story character progression limit by just fast-tracking them via trance hypnosis into "breeding fetish" after just a few make-out sessions. She'll complain about how kissing is going to far but knock her up? No problem!

I know of nobody who can verify if he is alive, and I'm not saying he's not dead, but any rumor that he died "in the trenches" is unsubstantiated. When asked directly both in PM by me on Patreon and on the mod's Discord channel by others he claimed he wasn't anywhere near the conflict

The mod forces fetishes and Locks actions despite being a Sandbox kitted with difficulty levels and other mechanics that can account for actions.
Clothing system was also butchered recently.
There are game breaking bugs and inconsistencies.
I play the mod to see which 1 step forward and 2 steps backward the game takes every now and then.

It would be easy and expected of me to just say "this" but that isn't actually how I feel. Vren was a genius and ambitious but he wasn't perfect. Trist and Starbuck have done well with the mod but it can feel like too many cooks (not the adult swim single)

If you want to play the sandbox game designed by its original author unconstrained by the values of the mod creators, this. If moar content is what you're after, including owning a mansion with a slave basement, operating the porn shop, and buying the strip club; the mod. If you want a more stable experience, since practically all the bugs of this version have been found and fixed by now, this. If you enjoy bughunting in the constant beta of many modders contributing to it at once, the mod. If you want to create more of your own stories with the random characters of the city and the handful of unique characters written by Vren, this. If you want to pursue romances with a dozen unique characters with their own stories written by Starbuck and the expanded/altered stories for the vanilla characters, the mod

You're gonna get true believers on both sides telling you theirs is better, but ultimately that's for you to decide for yourself

Sure. Gimme a day or so to compile it. I need to sort out my own edits that aren't strictly bug/typo fixes, like an option to tell the girl to take control when she begs you to make her cum, and adding the trance training dialog Vren put at the end of dates after similar events where you could trance someone but time advances afterwards like employee reviews and family dates

unzip into the root folder for vanilla Lab_Rats_2-v0.51.1-pc obtained from the OP of this thread, which should contain the Lab Rats 2 executables, and confirm replace files. If you're not prompted to replace files, you're doing it wrong. Start over with a fresh unzip of vanilla Lab_Rats_2-v0.51.1-pc obtained from the OP of this thread. A new game will be required because some of the fixes involve definitions

NOT compatible with the "unofficial bugfix and mod", aka Lab Rats 2 Reformulate, nor is this intended to compete with it

The scope of this "patch" is to fix ONLY crash bugs and things that are clearly broken or not working how Vren describes in his patch notes or code comments

typos aren't a priority but I try to correct them when I find them. If you want to report them that's cool. Vren used UK spelling so I try to stick to that whenever it differs from US spelling. If I accidentally "fixed" anything to US spelling instead of UK, bonk me

I'm not a smart, I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. If I made a mistake, feel free to call me a dumbass. I'll fix it if you also tell me how I fucked up
