The dlsite version is heavily censored. It is extremely annoying and i took no pleasure playing it.

Look at this :

uhhh you do realise that porn is censored in japan right? Dlsite is a japanese games site. So OF COURSE the game will be censored. This guy is just trying to sell his game, not take on the japan censorship bureau (if that's what they call it).

And hiring someone to "fix" your bugs can be problematic as you need to give them everything basically so they can fix it. And many people (me included) don't trust others with our revenue stream.

Dev, you doing great one day raven will get whats coming to her!

So I'm up to the alien stage, reached the boss, but can't proceed. The stairs to the next area, to the right, don't transition me to the next map UNLESS I let the alien boss fully corrupt Raven, which teleports you to that map and allows you to use the stairs to and from that area.

Is there a way around this issue? Where do I even go after the scene there after the full alien corruption?

OK, so modding a game with explicit (in this case) or implicit (in the case of games like Skyrim) is NOT stealing. Not creating something new =/= stealing.

This is an honestly crazy mindset in my opinion. Do you consider someone posting free fan fiction stealing? How about any of the parody games (porn and otherwise)? Where is the line between allowed use, fair use, and theft fall?

Hell, even in terms of pure coding if you get source code / code examples posted for free online that are open source / free to use. Are those stealing? Especially if you have / are required to post the source of the code in the project.

Ye, too bad it's not open source code also RPG maker is not build in a way you can mod it like skyrim or other game, they had to rip off the original content to drastically change the game, in this case the code and maps. It is steal since you took a game that was meant for people that pay for it, you change the code and redistribute the entire package for free. If you don't like the term steal then use piracy, even if not completely right, but the substance of the speech is that.
And again, I'm not against what they did, I'm just stating a fact, I don't get why you guys get all worked up

Isn't that the game "end" at the current state? Where you see the "ship" captain got corrupted by the alien?

Aside wasn't an attack towards you, even if you asked permission you just took his game, reversed engineer and heavily mod it, so basically it's stealing since you didn't create something new and entirely yours. But again, not a problem for me, I think zxc should hire you instead of keep throwing this mess and make even you pay for it, which it's an insult

1.- Permission = not stealing / but that discussion is already around here and I don t really care
2.- Music / Other pictures / sidequests / sprites included from somewhere else or created by me
3.- He already asked me to do some stuff but I m also no programmer, never learned it I only use that as way to shut off from my work to get a clear head

Another thing... Why is everyone here so upset about that her sell it in Japan? For the rest of the world the other versions are free or did anyone here have to pay for a download?

Bro chill by your logic around 70% of all RPG games will come under plagiarism. We just expect them not to plagiarize art itself. I do respect you for getting angry for others but it's not needed in this case until unless zxc himself does not involve himself let's all be Bros and fap away our worries

I think that perhaps overselling a plagiarism argument in favor of a game which contains Raven as a protagonist is a bit of a lost cause, honestly. I mean, since we are also discussing DLSite, most JP authors there would at least spell it R*ven or w/e to avoid potential issues down the line.

That said, the DLSite issue is fairly obvious. He wants another market for his product and its far easier to reach a Japanese audience on DLSite than it is on Subscribestar. He provides multilingual support on his Subscribestar, so there's absolutely no reason to act like Japanese is suddenly the main language for the product. (He's Chinese, ffs). So if you're complaining, you either have nothing better to do or you aren't paying for it anyway. Probably both.

OK, so the original game was made with rpgmaker vxace (I think, not positive), and had stability issues with some of the plugins in addition to many bugs. The art was improving over time in the original version, with some honestly very bad pieces and a lot much better. It was never finished, since the developer switched to RPGMaker MV.

The developer is chinese, but there's basically no story at all in the original or remake version. What is there has been translated as development went on, but again there's not much there.

The remake is basically the same game with far better game balance, better art, and more content. I don't think it's considered a fully complete game yet, but it may just be at the point of bugfixes, I don't know.

There's also the advance version, which is a mod of the original version (made with permission, since that's been a topic of issue with one person recently). It has more story and has far better game balance than the original and has both added story content and uses art from the remake version in addition to the original version.
