Well if it makes very little sense, there's not point in playing it, which is why I asked. Thanks for the response.

It would make very little sense imo, but if you are interested, just play it yourself.
I agree. When I first started the game I also thought if they were meant to be related by blood, but censored in an obnoxious way. As the story progresses however, you can really notice they truly are just supposed to be friends from about the day they were toddlers if not younger.

Rose is best suited to the current childhood best friend IMO. It's how she's written and their interactions show this. She is still a main girl and her romantic path should start next update, we see how she clearly has a crush on the MC. In Rose's words "Well duh!"

I agree with her being best suited to the current childhood best friend.
However her being a main girl and having a crush isn't really a reason to not be related by blood (as we've already seen in many stories) :KEK:

Luckily she isn't though, otherwise I wouldn't be playing this through Steam considering when it was released there. :HideThePain:

Hey how do I get the walkthrough mod to work and how would I know it is working?
extract mod zip and if it has game folder inside then copy it to same folder where are exes etc and replace all when asked.

we have seen it especially when she barked in when mc was having sex in his room and when she found out that she and mc aren't sharing room.

When it comes to the main girls, there is no sex yet in season 1 with Rose, Samara and Danielle.

Advice is to wait until season 2 because that is where Rose's scenes will be.

The automated patch made sense to me on my first blind playthrough. I actually don't understand why people are saying it wouldn't make sense. The whole "but you're my **BEST FRIEND**" lazily-censored-incest-game vibe seems QUITE strong IMO -- strong enough that I do believe it makes more sense with this patch.

The patch doesn't remove the adoption element, it just makes Rose MC's sister, and that link makes a lot of sense, especially in episode 1.

We'll see how things play out in the future but I still find this "taboo best friend" theme less realistic than an actual sibling relationship.

But that's me. If anyone else tries the patch, I'd appreciate any feedback.

There is no "taboo best friend" in this game though. They're not in love in the beginning since they never thought of each other that way because they know each other from an extremely young age. That is an extremely common occurrence.

This is just one of those times it's better to grab popcorn and watch. If they need Rose to be related to immerse themselves in a season where she doesn't even have a lewd scene with the MC, just let them rewrite it. They'll have to rewrite it every update but hey, maybe they enjoy doing that.

How does all the dialogue around Rose's parents come across, when she gets the letter at the end of Ep3 like MC does, and when her parents are talking to Mike's dad, etc.? It's not just a simple case of making a relationship between Rose and MC, there's a much wider implication to the existing story if they are made siblings - especially if speculation about MC and Mike actually being siblings turns out to be right.

From what I've seen and reviewed, Rose's parents in the game are not referenced at all beyond:

Code:
MC "{i}This is the teddy bear her mom bought her when she was little and their dog passed away."
Code:
Rose "I'm going to call my parents, tell them we're safe and sound."
and maybe one more time where Rose mentions calling her mom or dad.

when she gets the letter at the end of Ep3 like MC does
There's nothing to patch yet. A future patch would add dialogue in the next episode to fill in the gap of how Rose had responded to her own letter. For now, it's plausible enough for the patch that MC picked up and read his letter first.

and when her parents are talking to Mike's dad
Not sure what you're talking about here.
Neither Rose's parents nor MC's parents are ever speaking to Jordan Peters, and Mike's biological parents are never mentioned.
Jordan's name appears once in episode 2.
The art exhibition? Mike's dad, Jordan, is not talking to Rose's parents. He's talking to Christian -- Samara's father.

especially if speculation about MC and Mike actually being siblings turns out to be right.
Indeed. It's entirely possible that the potential for a patch -- without a significant narrative overhaul -- falls apart completely in season 2.

However, I still stand by the position that the dialogue stiff labeling of MC and Rose's relationship comes off as unnatural in the vanilla game -- at least less natural than it seems in a context of siblings.

Read the following examples and you tell me which versions feel more natural.

Near the end of episode 3, just before the scene where MC gets the letter from his biological mother, we see Jordan talking with MC's foster parents.

Yes... But you mentioned Jordan in reference to Rose's parents.

This scene has nothing to do with Rose or her parents so I'm not sure how this conversation between the adoptive parents and Jordan would pose a challenge to an incest patch.

No I didn't, Tony mentioned that. Also it wouldn't really make sense if that only Connor would get a letter from Erin if they were supposed to be blood related (although I admit we don't know what's in the rest of the letter yet). Besides that, let's just agree to disagree. You seem of the believe they are supposed to be related, for me the whole story is written as if they were always intended to be best friends. Te main "proof" for me being the absence of the "best friends taboo" which usually is present in a censored game and that they're also acting more like best friends than siblings to each other..

I looked at some of the stuff that was changed, it basically messes with how I interpret some scenes but it's simple enough just not to use it if I don't want to.

That first example, where Rose is asking Lana how the kiss went. It's the first hint that Rose might be interested in him because she's curious what kissing the MC is like. She teasingly uses best friend, as is done in some humorous situations from time to time on sitcoms and other shows. Swapping it for brother tosses the humor out and just makes it sound taboo, which is the intention of the patch in the first place.
