To the author, I am very sorry for your loss. No Father should lose a child but losing one to suicide is worse. A year ago, my daughter asked, "Papa, why won't you help me die". She wanted to walk into the desert hoping that the pain would stop. I didn't know that severe depression brings horrible pain. We were very lucky and she is recovering but it was the worst time of our lives.

I wish you and your daughter the best, good to hear that she is recovering!

I think we all know that depression is difficult to get out of it, especially if the one who has it does not see a shred of hope, but, in Cece's case, I think that the greatest pain she feels has to do with his little brother, something has happened since she blames herself throughout the game, she always says that she ends up hurting others because of her, there is the key

Anti-depressants are usually prescribed incorrectly for people that are just depressed about having a shitty life, making things worse.
In Cece's case though it really seemed like actual depression caused by chemical imbalances where medication could have helped.

And even when they are pre-scribed correctly they might not be the medication the person actually needs. Psychiatrists (they're the ones who can prescribe stuff, psychologists don't, they're more to talk to and try to put your thoughts into a more managable perspective) still have little use of taking bloodsamples, though technology is gladly slowly moving in that direction.
They might for example find that your dopamine levels are low, but, heyho, they probably already guessed after the first three questions, and that doesn't explain why those levels are so low, so they have to rely on interviewing their patients to figure out why their dopamine level is low, classifying when their feelings change and how they change, to figure out what step might be missing in its production or whether the stuff is broken down too fast by the body.

The other option would be taking a brain tissue sample, which isn't exactly a safe procedure for the patient. I really hope there will be some breakthroughs with the blood tests soon, to quicker identify the exact nature of each problem, and better finetune the necessary prescriptions.

Yesterday I did my Lexi playthrough and at the end I was like DAMNNNN what the hell! (didn't watch trailer or kept up with the news so I had no idea... but then during the night I was like, tomorrow I'll do my Cece playthrough and there's NO FUCKING WAY she will be doing the same, right? right? ...Cece???? Fucking hell man! then I saw the heart monitor and started to get my hopes up (I was ready to not even touch the game again), and thankfully this thread confirmed that she's not gone gone. Now my hopes are that she's not in a coma or some shit like that, please don't do that.

Now that you say that I remember the scene with her little brother finding a razorblade on her floor.
Considering that both her younger siblings look like severely-inbred mentally-retarded comic book caricatures, it's possible that something happened here and made Cece's already-existing depression worse.
I say already-existing, because Cece probably used the razorblade to cut herself before.

That's what I think, she already had depression, but what happened after that scene was the maximum trigger

I agree. I get it people came for the porn so a warning is necessary but one at the begining of the game should be enough. Imagine if we have such a warning screen in a movie before an emotional scene

Okay ive just finished the last chapter. I dont play this game for porn.(but that is good in this game too), but just this writing...OMFG. The end hit me really hard cause one of my realtives did the same...jesus. This game is gets to your soul and makes you laugh...or cry in this case. Masterpiece.

But to get back to the Drifty's story, based on what he said in the Dev diary, it sounds to me like this is a creative expression of something he wish he could have done to save that someone in his real life. Whether that is realistic or not, it's not really all that important. (For all we know this whole game could be an artistic therapy of his traumatic experience of dealing with someone's depression.) Let's just take this as an outlet of Drifty's emotional experience and enjoy the ride as it is.

i really love this game story, i had already read that something was gonna happen before playing the last chapter.
but i still felt sad till the end, like i had this strange feeling during the whole playthrough and by the end i genuinely cried.
i really hope something good will happen in the next chapter.
