What more to say than what has already been said in the rave reviews (or not) of these 2 days? Not much except that indeed Drifty knew how to make us travel in this story which, like a dramatic film on the theme of suicide leaves us a strange aftertaste when leaving the cinema and that we wonder : "What would I have done in the same situation, Will I have seen things that others did not understand and which would have warned me of the danger, did I could have avoided the inevitable?
I have experienced a situation like this before. It happened 41 years, 8 months, 16 days and 10 hours ago. But, although I had been warned in advance of what would inevitably happen, I was never able to find "the bridge" in time. And all these questions and many others, for all these years I have been asking myself them and unfortunately I still cannot find the answers. I think that like me at that time, the protagonists of the game deceived themselves on the distress and the determination of Cece, they all believed that it was going to pass eventually, that she was well surrounded now, that she had been made. discovering people and experiencing situations that would inevitably give her back the joy of living, even a little, just enough to initiate a future return to normal, that she was no longer alone, that she had found a lover who was going to take care of her, protect her; hogwash. The evil was so deeper, so well hidden, that until the last second, until this truth struck eye-to-eye, already three-quarters of it swallowed up by the abyss: "Love? I don't even know what that means ", none knew how to apprehend the risks and to put it to the shelter of itself.
Next: It belongs to you dear Drifty. You yourself have already set the bar so high that now we will have to find a way to go even higher to resuscitate our heroine, because there is no way out of it by a pirouette. All the credibility of the game past and to come depends on what will happen now. Of course, it is and it is only a game, and by definition a game has no real consequences, but the brains of players (and more generally dreamers from all walks of life) often have difficulty establishing a Clear border between fiction and reality, I want as proof the number of commentators who confessed to have cried at the end of this episode (and I am).
There are IRL examples, I am thinking in particular of a machine gunner in an English bomber during the war who, when he had not had time to put on his parachute, preferred to jump into the void rather than burn alive when, hit by the German DCA, the plane he was in caught fire and began to dive towards the ground. The guy fell 2,000 meters before being cushioned by the snow-capped fir trees in the Ardennes forest and he made it out alive.
So Drifty, it's your turn to play now. And anyway, thank you for everything that has already been done, you had to dare, and it's a real success that places this game as the or one of the best games of the moment, unfortunately without the notoriety is necessarily there, but is it the most important?
