Well, it depends on how the files were erased, but unless the HDD or SSD is burned, you can restore the lost data with some utility software like "testdisk" for example. I was surprised to find files that I thought had been lost for more than ten years. But I guess nobody likes to bother with that sort of thing nowadays.

sure unless it's system disk.

You can always try lab repairs, but it's often quicker and cheaper to get new and reinstall everything.
Fucking consumer society... :D

I know a guy who kicked the TV because his set top box hung up
