Not everyone will be interested, I know. Personally I don't like in-game dreams where an MC meaninglessly lewds an LI prematurely. I was aiming for something different by making these not a part of the in-game experience. They were meant to be a break for me from working on LDNA's main story, a fun exercise in creativity, colloborating with my patrons to come up with new mini-stories/vignettes for women that otherwise would not get lewded. I was surprised that so few people had played them but honestly given LDNA's nature as being unrelentingly story-focused I probably should not have been surprised.

Regardless, like I said they just take too much time to produce. About a month each.

My stance as someone who really doesnt like any kind of bonus scens, extra scenes, lewd dreams (worst case are lewd dreams with characters and showing them nude while we did not saw that in the story yet, ruins any tension and buildup):

But if a dev really wants them: Give them some meat which makes them canon and integrates them at least in some way to the story. Just some fun detail, players not playing it dont miss anything but if you play it there may be a fun detail to discover.

In your story this could have been a flashback to a sex scene between Vega and Rockford which really happened at some point, giving a snippet out of their relationship back than.

Sounds a bit strange when talking about a lewd scene but like this its at least connected to some "lore" and potential worldbuilding and kinda easy when the MC has established former love interests who are not love interests in the ongoing story.

In Race of Life for example - sorry for naming another game, im really NOT a fan of the bonus scenes there in general as they take WAY too much time but anyway - there is a bonus scene of the wedding night of the MC and his Ex-Wife which kinda worked for me even when i dont know if its a showcase of the real wedding night they head (i dont want to check it lol).

Anyway, just my 2 cents

I absolutely respect this stance, some devs get too lost in the sauce and want to force something even though it might not be something the playerbase will care much for and devote a lot of time towards it. Coming to terms that certain things might not work in the way you anticipate it and actually being alright with letting it go gives me a lot of hope that you won't get bogged down with too many things that won't pay off in the way you want it to.

But yeah as you said, LDNA is very story driven and the story is very good so that definitely chimes into what's happening with the dream scenarios, they likely would've worked better in a more laidback type of game.

I don't think the reason they weren't popular is because people play leaving DNA just for the story

For example, I'm a romantic, so I play leaving DNA for the story and the love story

As I said, I don't care about sex scenes with no love, no emotion, and no meaning

but I do look forward to my scenes with my girl

because they're not just having sex, they're making love

So it's not that the sex scenes don't matter at all

Or people don't care about sex scenes at all; they just want to be emotional and romantic

and mean something and don't just have sex for the sake of having it
