If Sel still lurks around this forum, I want him to know that I think this game is incredible and I have supported the game in the past for YEARS, but I have stopped my support due to his combative behavior.

I get that he is really upset with the pirates, but man, the more you try to do shit, you're just gonna aggravate them and encourage leakers more and more. I feel like there's a non-insignificant amount of people that would re-support you if you just took a step back and carried on, like Caribdis does with his game and leaks (as an example).

I want to support you but the way you're going about this just turns me off from doing so

I don't know what they were thinking trying to implemt their "drm" the way they did.
Maybe it was a onetime thing to have some fun?
But if someone wanted to be a real asshole... Personally i'd shut the backend service down for a better solution.
Read some subscribers had their saves "wiped" and if they weren't lying, i don't think thats intended behavior.

I don't know what you did to insert the custom chunk into the png but, it's crc seems wrong and your IEnd seems broken too.
Maybe there is a reason for it which eludes me. The png works in a couple of programs, others not.
Guess it depends if said program cares for custom/IEnd chunks.

Aside from the moralist angle, there's also just literally zero gain from doing this. Presently, everything works out brilliantly in favor of pirates, hence Sel's continual butthurt over it. Why rock the boat when you're winning? Continuing as things are now obviously frustrates Sel to no end (if that is your goal) and also gets you a free VN to play every now and then.

You only have to worry about it if you installed the leaked care packages.

And all you have to do to bypass it is to either delete the code block starting at line 418 in gui.rpy, or to replace the one in your game directory with this one. Make sure to rename it to gui.rpy after you download.

Otherwise all your saves and the script.rpy file will get deleted.

you save it, drag and drop OR copy paste it out of your download page into the game files
if it tries opening the file instead of downloading it, click and drag it directly to your game files/download library and it will start downloading

So, nobody's really talking about it (or if they are, it's buried in DRM salt), but I think the old man is dead. Or at least was prior to the reset. Or maybe nobody's talking about it because it was obvious to everyone else.

1) Tsuneyo's reluctance to the ramen shop is unusual. Like there's something she's trying to avoid.
2) She's being morbid in the scene on the bridge, even asking (obliquely) about what will happen to her.
3) She's genuinely afraid to to go to the shop.
4) She's later called to the shop by her neighbor because of a smell.

There's nothing concrete, but I think she suspects that he's gone, and is afraid to return to the shop because that would make it real.

It also helps that she was talking about the potential for rain, and my brain IMMEDIATELY jumped to Hughes' funeral in Fullmetal Alchemist. That might have seen me down the Red Herring Trail, actually.

I noticed another thing that may reinforce this idea. During the date she says that, if she was about to die, she would call Molly and nobody else, since she isn't close with any other person. Bit weird that she wouldn't even care enough to inform her old pop, unless he was already dead

Yeah.. this one is not a coincidence at all..
Maybe Sekai is the one in "control" each time Sensei does something like this... same with the Molly scene.

When it was first ordered to him (in a coded message in a Yasu scene), I assumed that he had to take her virginity by Winter.

But the way it's worded would imply that he might need to take it by force (because he's taking something he shouldn't have, rather than something freely given).
