The act of incest itself generally leads to inbreeding, which can have some pretty bad effects on the children and, after witnessing such effects, the mother by extention. There are a few other reasons why incest is a taboo in every culture, but discounting that, there's still another reason Sensei sleeping with Ami is wrong.

The power dynamic between Sensei and Ami's relationship is too one sided for it to develop into a proper romantic relationship. This will likely result in a really unhealthy relationship down the line.

Finally, part of the reason she does all those things to Sensei is because she has some pretty major parental issues. Ami doesn't need to get laid. She needs professional help.

Don't get me wrong. This shit is hot AF and I have gotten off to it. But it's still good to keep context for why these things are generally looked down upon in real life. Consent isn't the issue here.

[Edit]

In terms of videogame logic, you're right. There are absolutely no points that say that having sex with Ami is the wrong choice or something bad to do. But that's kind of the point. Both us and Sensei see decisions in these games as only having short term minor consequences which can easily, or semi-easily, be undone while mostly being motivated by our libidos and/or desire to see more of the story/characters. However, a common theme in denpa games like this is to apply real world logic to the decisions made in them and treating the characters as if they're real people to show how messed up using that videogame logic can be.
[/Edit]
Agreed, if there was no medical issue and no power dynamic, such as in the case of two adults, I would have no problem, but as it is, it does cause harm. However, there is no such issue in video games, including this one, so there is no problem. Selebus is doing extremely well in making us question the morality of our choices in LiL as any Denpa game developer should. This is one of the few games where I can't just shut off my emotions and morality because pixels, not humans, and it does make me want to take those pixels' feelings into consideration as well as the morality of my choices in game and the consequences for each choice. I will admit I am not taking my current play through seriously, but come v1.0, I will be doing so and it will most likely cause me to treat it as if these decisions and interactions were happening in real life. We all have Selebus to thank for that.

If we're applying real world logic there is pretty much only 1 context that makes it "okay".

But I would echo Ankoku on this point, and it was the point I was trying to make by saying that Sensei is a predator; a logic much closer to the real world is being applied to the moral choices made by Sensei here than in your usual game.

The very fact that there are multiple posts now by people who were bad homies and regret it shows us that there are consequences for being a shitty person in the game - and the game is defining shitty much more strictly than a lot of people are used to.

And while my specific links have not yet been shamed I'm all on board for getting the treatment! It's what I signed up for by playing a game that is interested in analysing motivation and morality (at all when compared to most).

I can't believe I am about to type this about a porn game but the fact that this game is making us question at all the actions we take defines it as art rather than just smut.
The writing alone makes this art, but I do agree with your point. I was one of those original bad homies and I did regret it, not because I missed out on a Rin event or two, though yes I felt bad for that, but because I hurt Rin herself, a feeling made much worse when she found out and told me off for it.

Most of us (I would hope) are in real life moral people. RPG developers often lament that an overwhelming majority of players always choose the good option, and it pisses them off that so few choose evil options despite having put the same amount of work into evil stories.

I feel uncomfortable making evil choices, even if it is for fictional pixel characters. I did the bad on Rin because I thought that was what the game expected me to do at that stage. Only later did I realise the fallout and regretted it immediately. But, given that we as a character are having multiple encounters with seemingly no consequences, it can be difficult to distinguish moral choices. We can't progress the story without cheating on everybody.

I normally do not feel uncomfortable because of the logic that it is just a game. I do go for evil options when possible, but not this time. This time, in my case at least, the decision had already been made before the consequence was in the game. I had started fingering Chika and completed Schadenfeude before Rin finding out was even possible since the consequence came one build later than the trigger. If they had been added in the same build, I'm not so sure I could do that to Rin. I would probably intentionally skip until her feelings were no longer in danger without even realizing it was the proper choice all along just because it's what felt right. I normally enjoy multiple girls even if none know of the others, but I do feel bad for doing that in this game as well even though I am still pursuing it.

So, I'm sitting here, playing my 'Wuji' save, and it hit me (which made me chuckle):

"How would you feel, when the teacher that you confide in, that's like an older brother to you, fingerblasts the girl you're attracted to?"

I'd kill the bastard if he told me.

Random thought of the day, don't mind me.

What you're saying is (going back to an earlier discussion) Rin's your number one to be the killer then?

To be honest, I'm surprised Rin didn't. She's been shown to go to drastic lengths already, so I am very surprised she did not this time.

sorry for quoting you so much Oblivion. You're save is just so damn useful! More people need to like that comment. :p
if you've already done everything between your 2 saves and wanna consolidate to 1 save with everything done, I can post my save. You would just have to change the name everyone calls you on the computer then.
i dont mind the quotes, but im glad the save was useful!
i like having the different saves so im prepared for most scenarios!

I might have lost track of things because the beach event didn't trigger until about day 400 (and it took quite a long session with grep to figure out why) but I felt railroaded into betraying Rin. Other comments make it seem like I should have had a more active choice in the matter, so is there a trick I missed?

am i like, the only one that got Rin's last scene on accident? i had to protect her. and sana, i couldnt stay with ayase that night. The H is fine, its kind of expected in games like this (i mean, TAGS) but the story and substory are honestly so much more interesting. and ive never actually seen a game (or visual novel) where i actually identified with characters when i was their age like this.

as a person who has dealth with eating disorders, crippling social insecurity, clinical depression, self harm... yeah. its very hard not to empathize. H games should not be making me tear up like this.

ALSO AS A CODER DO YOU KNOW HOW TERRIFYING IT IS TO HAVE ELDERICH MESSAGE RESPONSES IN HEX APPEAR AND FLASH ON YOUR SCREEN? I CAN DAMN NEAR SIGHTREAD IT AND THAT WAS REALLY SCARY

no it does kind of seem that way, but you can trigger basically all the main events you need to to get to the beach before you have to do shadenfreude to progress. non-linear progressions like this can be tough as is, but all you really have to do is kiss chika, and build up to shadenfreude and you can actually stop there.

on the topic of killers, i hope its context dependent. like depending on your choices, it changes who the killer is, though im not sure is scripted scenes can work and grab data like that in RenPy.

i havent been able to pledge yet (mianly bc i just found this game last week and payday is this week) but is this update going to be tier locked behind like, 20? not a problem, i just wanna know.

also a quick question-why do you split the parts up? is it just so we have stuff to do in between and dont have as long of a wait, because if im not mistaken the part 2 is identical to part 1 but with more added to it and probably a couple of bug fixes.

All of the Patreon releases are locked to the $5 tier and I have no intention of raising that. All $5 patrons get the game 2 weeks before everyone else.

The reason the game is broken up into Part 1 and Part 2 is because of how the releases are structured.
In my opinion, every 'version' of LiL should have a little bit of each element that players have gotten used to over the last seven months.
So Part 1 would have something like: Main Events, Secret Event, Side Character Events, Animations
And Part 2 would have something like: Girl Events, Lust Events, UI Improvements
I'd feel like I was cheating people passing off two weeks of work as an entire version of the game, so I decided to split it into two different parts.
