Christ, man. You might be interested in the save numbering mod I made a while back, but even that was only designed around ~100 pages of saves
It lets you scroll save pages 10 at a time and moves the counter at the bottom to follow.

In Soviet Russia there is only "samizdat" and only communist party. Cant read books if most of them are written by "dissidents" and cant find these books to read either. No wonder they would later on charge water through television cable.

I'm not sure limiting the folder's internet access matters otherwise people would suggest it more. All I can tell you is I'm pretty sure that error you got is what happens when you load a save while the drm is active. And if you got it wrong once all of your saves get corrupted.

I also have that problem because I tend to save many scenes that I find memorable, so the save screen also works as a throwback gallery. That's a lot of saves though, I'm only in the 100s pages.

For anyone who might be unaware, pressing the "s" key at any time will create a screenshot and save it in the LiL folder.
Though I still understand the notion of saving the "moment" and keeping the scene for a potential review.
Personally, I have started using the screenshot function more and relying on the in-game event replays, which slowed down my save count accumulation drastically. Or at least I'm nowhere near 900
