I know selebus and I can tell you that people underestimate what this man-child with an ego is capable of doing just for the bitterness of it.
I'd say it's more than likely that nothing is gonna happen if you use DRM but it's not absolutely impossible if he ends up adding countermeasures to it, that's why I discourage its use if you can get by without it. The first opportunity was during the whole renpy update, but through my regular combings of the game's code I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Since I too am obliged to "play" the game but I'm not a fucking idiot I also cheated Sensei-quest, but instead of using DRM I change some values in the game's code and then make sure to revert any changes after I'm done so that everything is left undetected.
My job here at this point is simply to make sure nothing fishy ever goes on and that if it does, that I can just give a clean save file to everyone who needs it

My take on the wasted image:

It's a fingerprint, leak a unique busted image in each download of the game to patrons. When the game is leaked, he can tell who leaked it by what image gets posted on the forums.

I don't know about that. If that was Selebuses goal it could be done in far less noticeable ways.

It'd also only affect people willing to redownload 10gbs every month instead of a 200mb update. He's also shown he can hide things in much more subtle ways.

I'll mention this one since his DRM deleting code was hidden in a random image in the dorms which takes this concept and runs miles with it. In the original PC editions of Cave Story, Pixel (Game creator) decided to put in rudimentary DRM to the game to stop the average person changing the graphics of the game. Every 'bmp' had "(C)Pixel" appended to the end of the file in hex. In most cases it left no visible mark to the image.

I'm officially retiring from this game since I will no longer be able to access my old pc and I'll be using my company's desktop from now on. Anyway, it has been a nice ride. The story is no longer that anticipating for me (I can't deal with Sel's shit anymore) and I'm with the working class now so my schedule is no longer that 'friendly'.

Same here, but some sort of short memory like that i may not remember 1 or 2 updates but if i read something maybe my mind can link up it and remember some things but surrounded by a fog, like i may recognize some things but dont know if it was truly like that. (this is the best example i could think off to explain it xd). But as blessed it can be its a curse too, its difficult to keep with things (theories and facts) because i forget them and feel lost.
