Sana wasn't actually there, but she was the person he saw, or the model was similar. Which means that his mind put her there, or whomever was controlling what he saw in his mind did. Or you could subscribe to the theory that his mind was in another "place" (during some blackouts like that one) akin to the copy of heaven Mymy is in now or something similar — which opens up a huge can of worms. I don't know how many people think that, at least for this instance, I'll shelve that for now. But then the question is why. Just fun to think about. I'm like 95% certain Sana will be very important in the future and might tie into more than we know now. I'm 100% certain I'm still a fucking moron though, and I can't find the train of thought I lost earlier. Might come back to it later with more thoughts.

As a person who has just started playing this game, right? What on earth are all these theories I keep finding in the comments section of this game? Like reading some of them makes me feel like watching Interstellar Part Two or something. I thought this was just your run of the mill porn game with a school setting or something. :WaitWhat: Can someone explain just what on earth is going on with this game, but in like... short? Thanks!

You play as a dude that doesn't know who he is and thinks that he has taken hold of another dude's body. Assuming this is all some kind of game, he sets forward trying to have sex with many girls.

But he keeps getting these visions and weird stuff happens to his head, which makes him question if this is all really a game and who he was in the first place.

From then onwards, it basically circles around the "what is this place" and "who am i", it just gets progressively more complicated as the game moves forward.

You don't need to understand all the weird stuff on your first playthrough, just play it. If you become interested in that side of things, we can help you, or you can just replay.

I definitely don't recommend reading this thread for lore until you've fully caught up. There's a puzzle guide on the first page, use that and the search bar liberally because this game is a fucking mess.

Think of this as a horror mystery game with some porn in it rather than a porn game with horror in it. If that still interests you then jump in and come back to the forum when you're through all the spoilery bits.

If this game could be easily summed up in a paragraph we wouldn't have 40000 comments here.

It seemed like Pareidolia at least knew it was going to happen, as to it being his plan I don't know if that's enough confirmation.

However not necessarily knowing that it would happen makes it his plan. Since Himawari possibly knew about it as well.

All of that being said, Pareidolia implies that it was him, yes.

As I said, I'm also curious as to who has access/made the replica of heaven for Maya Prime, and if every girl has one or is it just her as well.
Hmm I see; I can see two ways of interpreting what Pareidolia said during the 6th reset though.

Strictly speaking, else alone just means losing Prime Maya is solidly confirmed. To me his statement is somewhere between "Do I need to take something else from you again" and "Do I need to take something else from you as well"; if the former is true then it's Pareidolia who took away Maya Prime, if the latter is true then it's another god, but I honestly cannot make up my mind whether which end is more possible anymore.

Edit: Sensei himself believes to be Pareidolia that took her though.

I'll take a short line from the latest update that might partly summarize the game. Whether it will make any sense to you, I can't say... well... it probably wont.

"O, terrible danger. O, big penis sex. O, world and its whirlpool. O, mole ratted necks."
"O, poetry, pottery, lottery, Shrek. O, rhyming - O, timing - On Dasher, On Deck!"

Not laughing at you — definitely with you.

This is NOT your typical school harem game. At all.

But I’m guessing you’re already figuring that out.

I think it is Pareidolia narrating. He's illicitly using USER1's license to fuck with Sana, probably to make her scared of HOPE so that can swoop in as her "savior". Pareidolia shows up in person because someone (maybe Wires, maybe just automated system software) kicks him out from using USER1's account any more. Note that "account sharing is prohibited for new accounts" probably wouldn't apply for USER1's account, but it might for USER3 (as in the system detects that Pareidolia has accessed both USER1 and USER3 from the same "ip address").

I'm pretty sure Pareidolia does something similar with using USER1's account in Rin's Chapter 1 event "Window of the Waking Mind" (there have been a suspicious number of failed logins to USER1's account).

Interestingly, there's another narrator in "Ad Infinitum" before Sana starts seeing things, who also gets kicked out for improper use of USER1's license. It sounds like they're talking about Yasu's rope metaphor, which would mean the rope is Kumon-mi and/or all of its residents.

It's a bit confusing who this narrator is. I don't think it's Himawari because she shows up in person earlier in the event chain, so she wouldn't be talking about being in a completely different place (which might be outside of the walls) from Sensei.

The idea of breathing together is a callback both to the game's first narrator and to what Sensei thinks during the first reset.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
So that makes me think it might be narrator Maya, but the narrator says they're not built to be Sensei's lover. Maybe narrator Maya doesn't have a body or something?

And then one more thing: again, it says account sharing is prohibited for new accounts. Assuming that USER1 isn't the new account, that would mean the narrator has access to a new account. Maybe USER4 is involved?

I have a few vague thoughts. Aramaug beat me to some of it, though. Apologies in advance, this will probably be a long one.

Pareidolia echoes what Sara says stating that it's all in Sana's/Akira's head. This seems to be unreliable though, as Pareidolia does that a lot for his own reasons, and Sara is simply trying to convince Sana. Personally, I don't think Pareidolia was the one causing her visions, I think he shows up. Knowing that the visions have happened to Sana before and Sara before that, it isn't unprecedented. Whether User 1 is logged out because of Pareidolia triggering them to be flagged as unauthorized, or logged in himself and booted them off, or it happened automatically, I'm not sure. If you'll humor the idea, I think it's possible that there are three narrators in Ad Infinitum, with Pareidolia obviously being the last. User 1's connection is actually severed twice in ad infinitum. There's the first time, after which the narrator's speech shifts tonally, before it finally becomes erratic.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
This could lend credence to a couple ideas. User 4 involved in some way, possibly. Or Narrator Maya at first, before someone else. It could also be the same narrator, but they're affected by these visions or the force of User 1 as well, or revealing their true nature. It's hard to make sense of it.

As for the specific imagery of Sana being held by the angel in the same way Ami is, it could be a couple things. The angels are interesting, because they don't show up all the time, and most of the time it's during Akira's delusions, largely during resets or when he's taken somewhere (mentally) like the game shows or strange places. We do see angels in what might be where they come from though, specifically in How I Feel, where Hope brings us to the strange room he has AmIOkay strapped in a machine. Seemingly they are actually agents of Hope and possibly the others. That might be dubious, though. I think in the case of Sana at least, the angel isn't necessarily there and holding her, it visually shows us her in Hope's 'grip'. 今 is a bit of a mess, though. This is what she says while that frame is on screen: 1720504155450.png
This could all be foreshadowing of some sort. Sana's depiction in this pose might be alluding to this, and how her pain/story climax is yet to come. It could also be a reused asset. I would think it's purposeful, but I don't think we can say what that purpose is 100%. You can be sure that it's related to the direct influence being exerted on the characters, though. In the end, I'm left admitting that once again, my best proposition is "visual story telling."

Now, the moments before the reset are a fucking nightmare if you overanalyze things. I spoke on Sana already, but as far as Ayane, we have to choose what we think.
1. It's all in Akira's head
2. It's all in Akira's head, but what he sees is influenced by [User/God] and not merely his mind
3. His consciousness is in another "place" ala mayo prism, and what he sees may or may not be someone interacting with him or creating a world/people for him
And then this post becomes 50 pages. To keep it brief, Ayane would make sense to be there in his head, probably less interesting than Sana being there as an adult. If someone put her there or is acting as her in option 2/3, that's more interesting. Himawari would do that, but how likely is she to be there? She's trying to save Akira from something there, either resetting Maya or watching it happen, but who and why? I don't have any good answers right now, so I'll let someone else do the heavy lifting.
