Just imagine how differently each character would've reacted to Lavender Green;
I don't really mean to be too extreme in saying this, but it's precisely this kind of thought experiment which leaves me kind of tongue-tied nowadays, since it seems to me that everyone would just get over it or enjoy it. I mean, in a sense that's what the resets have always been about, but like... Do you really think Touka would sentence Sensei to death and not just in short order be glad he was so lustful for her that he couldn't help but fuck her? Don't you think Yumi would either forget it happened or maybe even distort into some weird 'wow that wasn't so bad after all" or something? I reaaaaaaaaaally just can't imagine any serious or long-term negative consequences in the current Lessons in Love context where it's quadrupled down on the porn game trappings. So I can't really imagine, in turn, any unique responses to Lavender Green except "random series of responses that end up with any given heroine looking Sensei in the eye and saying 'please break me' just like Molly did" or whatever. Kind of doomer here I know, but that's where I'm at right now. I basically feel utterly dead inside, and that's not just because of an inability to feel any physical or emotional stimulus! Engaging in LiL's plot right now feels kind of like I'm just watching noise happen on the screen indiscriminately. I've totally disassociated with anything happening and when something does happen I just wait for it to be erased. All 1 people in the world who were invested in Futaba's beef with Nodoka are VERY disappointed I can tell you that. And heck, maybe in fact I am become Nodoka, Goddess of Crows, and can only go "AAAH I CANT FIGURE IT OUT" before exploding.

I might even ponder if a 'reset' is a glib interpretation of the 'just get over it' or 'just pretend it didn't happen' philosophy when it comes to mental illness or depression.

I said weeks ago you're turning into Sensei. Maybe you were already Maya instead.
I don't remember you saying this. Maybe didn't properly tag me.
Nah, it is Sel's fault. She is... just okay. But yeah, I ignore her mostly
Yeah, what's the deal with that? If you are gonna put a character with a major visual flaw and include all the h scenes, shouldn't you make sure that the character itself is a lot more likable? I can't say there are a lot of people out there who are keen on someone with that strong insecurities, with a friend whose evil who she defends, who likes books way too fucking much and that's her entire persona. Even as a visual novel reader, that shit is stupid. All of this is assuming you don't mind overweight girls. I feel like she's no more entertaining than Haruka.

What do we feel about blue hair anyway? I can't say that's a particularly nice hair color.

Hey everyone, I understand that care packages are additional contents, however, what is DRM?
Generic term for software designed to restrict usage of a program. Software keys are DRM for example. Steam is also DRM.

The DRM in this game will delete your save files if you load up the game with pirated care packages. There's ways to work around it, but the risk is horrendously high for the little gain. Most of us just read the scripts of the care packages and look at the images. I'd implore you to semi regularly back up your saves if you want to risk having care packages in it, at least before installing a new update if you correctly applied the DRM in the first place. New DRM or DRM fixes can be applied at any time.

I don't remember you saying this. Maybe didn't properly tag me.
Nah I just make random little quips during these posts. You were finding Wakana strangely hot like Sensei did. Now you're hating children like Maya does.

Since there is nothing interesting really going on here right now, here's a question to spark a discussion that could get heated.

From the MAIN cast (the 20 classroom girls only), which character is the worst written one.

In my opinion it's Uta
Care to elaborate? I just started CH4 but how would you improve her writing if you could, and what makes her the worst written? Where I am right now she doesn't stand out TOO much so I guess I could understand why someone could come to that opinion, but a character who is ashamed of their first experiences with "sexuality" as a child and is currently running away from the consequences of said experiences seems pretty interesting and believable to me.

For me it's Nodoka. She isn't really a believable character. I mean it's fine if Selebus made her a genius but like knowing every random bullshit is insane. The quiz with Makoto was super cringe because of this. Then OF COURSE she can figure out the secrets of the universe. Nodoka feels like a character Selebus made so he can use her to dump expositions.

Keep in mind that one of her early events has her trying to protect the girls from Sensei:

Then later feeling uncomfortable and wishing Sensei would have came back so that she could apologize for making him uncomfortable:

(Otoha called this more or less, showing that she actually knows Nodoka quite well.)

Nodoka really does seem to be the overly protective awkward type. She also seems to take responsibility for things involving her friends, whether she should or not.
I’ve always read this early moment of hers a little differently. Nodoka does care about a selected few (hence Otoha’s rescue mission and Futaba overall), but I didn’t think this moment was one of her rare caring side’s manifestations.

From what I am seeing, as a known extreme pervert and a smut novel writer, Nodoka was “excited” about finally having a chance to dig into the mind of essentially an irl harem protagonist. She will press difficult questions at the cost of making everyone uncomfortable so that she can dig as deep as she can. As in, her intend there felt like “simply learning” instead of “preventing potential harm”. Grilling him in front of audiences might help expose his true color more; or it might be an effective way to gauge how willing/honest/forthright Sensei might be when it comes to questions that directly related to his very obvious ulterior motives. No matter what the case was, I doubt the sole or the main purpose of that moment was to gatekeep (not to mention the lack of concern or questioning of the same topic thrown directly at the prospective recipients of the said potential harm if she was really mindful about this).

In other words, I don’t think Nodoka would do anything even if Sensei’s answer to the question “the likelihood of him accidentally harming any of us beautiful girls” was bluntly VERY LIKELY. Since she didn’t actively do more about anything at any other given time, and since it is so painfully obvious that Sensei WILL not hesitate to fuck everyone and WILL unavoidably break everyone’s heart, I am going to assume that her reasoning of that grill session wasn’t to protect, but to merely learn about someone that might soon become the most interesting addition to her life, in ways only she can appreciate (and I guess us too if we are still playing).

Edit: but I guess my biggest reason for this train of thoughts is that it makes Nodoka’s character trait more consistent.

I'm not so sure that she'd stop him even then. If she figures out, or has figured out, that everyone 'resets' at a specific time, then it wouldn't surprise me to see her rationalize it out that even if Sensei were to break a girl's heart, as long as it's not one of the girls in the 'reset harem' (tm) that currently surrounds him... then there's really no harm in it. After all, when the reset finally happens, those girls who had broken hearts aren't going to remember what happened to them in the first place.

What we're seeing is a longer version of the "Groundhog Day Loop" trope, which has become somewhat popular as a writing tool for developers. On the surface, it lets you play around with different ideas or situations, with the knowledge that at some point everything will be reset back to the starting point, and by and large, whatever happened during that loop has no bearing on the future. Because, honestly, it never happened. Throwing in the idea that others can be trapped in (and aware of) the loop is a bit of a twist, but it doesn't change the fact that that's what we're seeing here.

It wouldn't at all surprise me for Nodoka to be somewhat self-aware of this trope, and fall into its typical cycle some, before quickly moving on to the second phase of that trope.

The phases, for those curious are:

1.) The character starts experimenting, then playing around with the people around them, confessing or acting on their feelings for another character, telling off their boss, getting themselves killed in interesting ways, and other things, in a form of Save Scumming.

2.)The character finally gets down to the business of what's causing the loop, and finds out how to stop it, often using the information learned in all the previous iterations to make sure this one last loop goes perfectly.

Given what we know about Nodoka, it's naturally plausible that she may skip step one like the other girls in the 'reset harem' (tm) have done thus far... but there's no guarantee such will be the case. From a writer standpoint, I'm not so sure I want her to skip that step myself. It actually could be interesting to see her playing around with other characters not directly included in the 'reset harem' (tm), to see what she could get away with, or what would happen. Which, could lead to a rather interesting dynamic should any of her playthings end up becoming part of the 'reset harem' (tm) while she's toying with them.

In my opinion it's Futaba, her plot was literally "I'm fat and I hate myself for it and even doing everything I can I can't change and I have insecurities because of it." and that's it, Futaba hasn't evolved much since chapter 1 until half of chapter 4 currently, the best thing about her so far was that she literally went to another dimension/happy event and that's it, There was nothing else significant in her character, in fact, her character only served to develop Yumi and Nodoka and a little bit of Rin, and that's it, she only served to improve these other characters.

Selebus is such a cruel and disgusting person that he wishes to bring into existance a person that gets no love or dick no matter how much she wants/begs for it
Literally putting an entire dimension between her and the penis she wants.
