It's me, back again with technical questions, and also plot thoughts.

Tech question: is it possible to have two separate instances of this game installed simultaneously? I've been just applying the update patches for like a year, and that has gotten a bit...messy between the DLC unlocker, the de-cheater and poking things with URM. Shit's less stable than Akira at this point and likes to spasmodically freeze, hang and crash whilst also deleting all my autosaves. So between that and being bored out of my fucking skull I've been thinking of downloading the most recent full version with the Ren'Py update, installing just the Progress Mod (not touching anything DRM-y) and starting a new clean playthrough. But I don't want to fully delete the old modded install since having a sandboxed version of this game is very handy (see: Alexis).

But going off my incredibly limited knowledge of how Ren'Py file structure is set up, I think this might get into issues with the %APPDATA% save directory and persistent file. Thoughts, anyone?

Actual game stuff: that was a really goddamn horny update. Not a complaint, but Sensei, dude...hydrate. Guy must've been shooting dust by the end of that Christmas party. At least Imani finally got herself a piece of that. Girl deserved it after waiting all this time. Not sure who to be more terrified of at this point, it really is one hell of a tossup between Ami, Chika and Tsubasa...and maybe Niki as a wildcard. Plot-wise this one was kinda filler IMO, that whole time fracture is still messing with me even with the flowchart from last time, and for the love of god WHY ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS!?

I just stumbled upon the newest review, nothing noteworthy about it until i came to the end of it. And lets say, I AM BAFFLED

The last metric I rate by is update schedule. Does the developer update the game with enough regularity that you aren't waiting for the game for an inordinate amount of time. Sadly, LiL's update schedule is... bad. Very bad. Much like other large games (Innocent Witches is a good example), the update schedule for LIL is such that you can expect to wait months before you see an update. Yes, the updates do contain some level of progression of the story, and are decently large; but that's really no excuse. Given the amount of what DOES come out with each update, it would be more reasonable for the developer to break those major updates down somewhat and have a more regular update schedule. However, they've chosen not to do that. I can't say why they've taken this path, but be warned, you may not hear much from the developer for some time before your next update comes out.

I rate Update schedule 1 of 5 stars.
Pretty much everything is plain wrong in this paragraph!
The update schedule easily deserves 5/5, comparing to most decent games on here. It is actually a strongpoint of this game, having consistent updates for years and years on.
IDK guys, what games might the reviewer have played in order to develop such out-of-reality-expectations?

You should download the whole game for this alone, make a backup of your saves, leave out the care packages. and install the progress mod and URM.

Ye I disregarded their opinion pretty quickly into that review. Stripping the story down to nothing but a variation of a "Story That Never Was" trope makes me think they either didn't actually read very far or have no reading comprehension whatsoever. This is one of the most interesting and emotionally gripping versions of that trope that I've seen in a LONG time, and that's just the beginning. That's not counting all the other tropes that Selebus has been putting his own original twist on. Tropes aren't bad storytelling, they're tropes for a reason. ALL stories consist of tropes, suggesting that somehow containing them at all makes the story lesser is ridiculous.

Also complaining about 60k words every two months not being enough is wild. Are there slow parts to the story, and could the story be more streamlined and condensed? Sure, but the impact of the game would suffer since we wouldn't have nearly as much time to grow attached to the characters, which is a major part of the experience. Slowly dripfeeding important lore and backstories before big reveals works wonderfully, and the loss of CH3 end Maya wouldn't hit nearly as hard for most of us if we didnt have the tedium of slowly breaking her walls down only to finally get her true feelings and part of her past before losing everything

Right, but are those previous saves going to be tagged permanently from having the Care Packages, or does that only execute the check and DRM if they're in the Game folder? Plus, they're flagged for using cheats due to a glitch I had.

as of current patch is there any lewd scenes with tsukasa or selebus is just fucking with us?
Can only hope, but it's basically confirmed scenes will happen with them, but like with other characters... Rin, Noriko, a few others, he's kinda awful at managing his large cast and just leaves characters without any sort of development for a long period of time. I still don't expect anything for Tsukasa for a bit longer really.

For me, this chapter 4 is what prepares the earth for the bad things that will happen in chapter 5 and the bad things that happened in chapter 5 will have a total impact on the dark route. in chapter 6, since the dark route will be the smallest of all assuming they gave 5 updates to the dark route and 5 of the characters overcoming that and finally the pure routes or a chapter 7 showing the characters really overcoming completely to come the pure routes.

(Every time I do these calculations I realize that I will be playing this addictive game for another 3 to 5 years of my life or even more than that.)

Welp I've been speeding through CH4 since I have a few days off, made it up to 0.40 so far. Figured I would post some thoughts and reactions. I'll split it into 2 parts so it doesn't get too long probably
