The reason i enjoy LiL is the subject matter, you just can't get this kind of story outside of places like this, normies would react with extreme rhetorical violence. Now don't get me wrong, i love porn games too, but the one thing i craved for years was adult stories, true adult stories, for adults, where normal shit like sex doesn't just fade to a black screen or skip to after.

Now, all of us are complete fucking nerds, so i've no doubt some of you are virgins, but even then, we all know sex is a normal part of being an adult, and as adults, we can enjoy fiction without having to be concerned with moral implications of consuming it. I want to read stories about fucked up people and fucked up situations, not because i'm fucked up (i am) but because it's the one kind of thing you can't find in the mainstream pile, you have to find the hidden nooks and crannies to find content like LiL. I'm not a teenager, haven't been for almost two decades, and i just want to consume content appropriate for my age, that is, everything, and not have censors tell me no.

LiL has plenty of sex in it, but almost none of it is hot, but it exists and is normalized within the story, i appreciate that fact, it has a story to tell and it doesn't fade to black cause of censorship. Reading a story about the cycle of childhood sexual abuse mixed with mindfuckery is exactly the kind of fucked up stuff i wished existed before i found this site.
This is also very much me. The best way I was able to describe it is like with TV Shows in the past. In The US (and Canada), you would have 'Network TV' dominate pop culture. And some were really good shows, but you would never have any nudity, swearing or violence; very sanitized. That works for some themes but not all. You would see NLV increase on cable TV and then finally on pay TV, there would be almost not holds barred. And thats where I'd get to see shows like The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad. So it less looking for a game that has sex/nudity but more not limiting myself to game that don't have any and hide when it should occur.

Why LiL? 1 reason is I remember seeing a post somewhere that said the game had a wide variety of body types in it. I found too many would focus on 1 type of body; either every LI had HHH cups with a 10 inch waist or they would make Ami feel like she was the the most buxom girl in the world. Then read a few more reviews where LiL was described as less of a porn game and more of a psychological horror game focused on trauma... with sex.

Are there any events that I can miss for having my stats too high? I want to do a replay and want to just raise them as soon as I'm able to but I think that at the last halloween party there was an odd part where Selebus just mentions that I could miss them if they were too high¿?.
There will be variations of scenes depending on choices or events seen previously. So technically, if you jack everything up you will miss 'red path' stuff. But these are usually only a couple of lines here or there.

And as mentioned, there are a few times where the game wont tell you you will miss a future event if you trigger x scene. The guide mod is really helpful for that.

So far, quite the opposite. Some rare exclusive content for people willing to grind up 2 thousand Ayane affection near the start of chapter 1 (and those people need to reach 3000, possibly 3010 before chapter 3 ends)

There have been whispers of you shouldn't grind quite so high, but so far you've just been rewarded for it instead.

For my part I didn't really even look at the content of LiL before I grabbed it, I just downloaded it randomly along with a pile of other games during a very depressing 2+ week wankathon.

I was so into it I knocked the whole game out in like a week and a half lol and the game is basically unfappable to me so the amount of time I've spent playing and thinking about LiL has curbed my porn addiction more than anything else has managed to, funnily enough.

For an H-game, the sex scenes has always been one of LiL's weakest link. There people who start playing believing it to be a fappable game, when it fact it is just a novel that simply happens to have sexual themes in it.

I do like the character models and the lighting/background in this game, much better than most games I have seen using koikatsu. But damn does Selebus sucks at animating the sex scenes in this game. It is understandable since as I mentioned, that has never been the focus of this game, but I do believe that's something he is gonna have to fix by the time the full game releases.
I doubt he will to be honest, they're serviceable as far as the story goes and I'm pretty sure that's all he cares about. Given how meticulous he is with other aspects of the game I get the impression he just doesn't really care about the sex scenes lol just slaps a stock animation on and job done

I stumbled upon LiL when I was browsing around on this site to find something to wank. I had no good impression on koikatsu VN but this game looked different at first glance - on artstyle I mean - so I just thought I gonna give it a go. It turned out this very game demolished all my existing Idée fixes on western visual novels. Til today I can't say if it's a good thing or not, I came for sex but got everything in exchange for that. A fair deal.

I still hold my opinion that LiL is an adult game that wants to include every theme and motif in itself so that you will inevitably lose your traces in the midst, marooned in blind promixity to your own overthinging on meaninglessness of phenomenons this and that word denotes. Most of them are merely digression unpurposefully and cruelly created by Sel. However, I don't necessarily consider it a worthless thing, just like all our discussions here.

So do I hate this game? Surely I do! It took hundreds of hours from my life with no sense of closure. But do I regret playing it? Answer is no. This game has something unique and glimmering that everyone has to grasp on their own. And hey it did improve my English. I had to look up for words for each sentence at the first and now I can easily read without any obstruction!

Found it on Latest Updates page and decided to give it a go? Renders seemed pretty decent, premise interesting and the denpa-ish cover image what got me into that. The OG Room With Clocks, Delirium and Bluejay is what kept me hooked tho.

Back then he only started chapter 2, so I got tired of waiting and put it off for a couple of years and then randomly remembered that "hey, that game with a-bit-too-real characters existed, I wonder if it's abandoned or no" and here we are.

Speaking of Twitter, that's how I found the game. I don't remember the post exactly, but I think it was a screenshot of one of Yumi's quips and the comments were describing the game as fucked up psychological horror.

That sounded right up my alley so I ended up here

I remember how i found LiL first on 9gag of all places. In the comment section of some anime meme i can't even remember there were just a couple images of a couple characters, one in a cute, normal, scene, one in a disturbing one. The images captured my imagination, but it was the comment answering to someone asking from the source of the images that stuck with me. It described LiL as a psychologiacl horror VN porn game first, wich captured my attention, since i was looking to read something similar, then it definitely got my attention when the user added something like "This game would have youtubers make video essays about it, if it wasn't so socially unacceptable".

Took me about 4 months last year to catch up from chapter one to the latest build. I still remember the first and only build i downloaded was the one with the starting screen showing Io's image made for the release of the 'stomachache' chapter. I had Io staring blankly at me for months, each time i started the game, with me not even knowing who the hell she was for weeks, since she appears later in the game, and without knowing how fucking horribile and significant was that damn image.

Piracy aside, I think a lot of the problems come from who Selebus is as a person (or what he turned into). Let's examine the puzzles, for instance.

TLDR is: Piracy or not, were I to join the discord and publish my trigger guides a couple hours after release (or ever), I'd be banned. The real issue is Selebus himself.

Let it be known that I've examined puzzles specifically. Way more can be said about other systems and behaviors from the dev - but you guys can extrapolate from what I wrote.

Totally nutso behavior given that the money-making potential of this VN is directly proportional to the number of players it has.

The trigger peice is kinda funny cause you can see the same stuff on the Wiki page that is linked on his website. Timing might be different, as I think the 'public' release is not until middle of the month and I think the wiki edits are supposed to follow those dates and not the paid releases at the beginning of each month.

The puzzle guides though; man I'd have no clue what to do without them. And I find it odd to be so strict with helping others out. I thinks thats actually how I ended up here cause I was stuck and couldnt find the solution anywhere until I found the puzzle guide. I guess maybe he is thinking "i spent x number if hours designing this reset puzzle and I dont want you to just fly through it with the answers, not paying attention to my design'.

I like how the BaDIK creator handles guides, where I think it is like a month after release, a full walkthrough is provided to patreon followers but then gets posted elsewhere but he dont make a peep about it at all.

Honestly I'm just impressed Sel can be so anal retentive in the face of so much money lol ten grand a month would certainly be enough to stop me giving a fuck about whether people wanna use a walkthrough or not

For my part I enjoyed most of the puzzles but for most people I can't imagine they're particularly fun to do (and I'm sure some would really struggle with a couple) and at the end of the day LiL is a game. Even for me I'm glad the puzzle guide exists 'cos after my first playthrough I would've struggled to be bothered with a couple of the puzzles for my subsequent replays, it would've just been frustrating. Flicking back and skimming through random events looking for a specific number or whatever isn't fun, it's busy work.

Same with the guide mod - flicking through everyone's generic events, phoning them all at each time of the day, etc. looking for the right event at the right time for the right person is just monotonous. I didn't use the guide mod until my third playthrough and I didn't even use the wiki for most of my first and it is an incredibly tedious experience playing the game without outside help.

I think it's just an obvious move to provide your supporters with a full walkthrough - because it's an added benefit for them with almost no cost to you (if it's built in-game, obviously that demands more work).
