What do you guys think of Akira (or Nozomu) being secret son of Miu? I'm at odds with it but I can't quite come up a feasible counterargument. The hair colour of Akira has a shade of red coming from nowhere unless from Yuu that is. But the doddle of Upside Down House has no implication of another red hair character other than Miu. Also, with Akira being bastard son of Yuu, the weird hostility from Saki and Nozomu targeting him as the one made Yuu crazy tracks.
Also Ami has pure red hair, just like Sekai while we don't know the hair color of Nozomu. If he's also black with a tint of red, shouldn't Ami has lighter hair color? The same logic goes with Akira being her potential father.
A low-hanging counterargument would come from just how young Miu looks like in
A House Near a Lake. Nozomu is presumed to be close in age with Sekai, meaning Miu would have to be pregnant with Akira at a time considerably later than Saki being pregnant with Nozomu. And here a pregnant Miu shown in
A House Near a Lake looks and acts still like just a highschooler; it'd be pretty wild to think that at the moment of
A House Near a Lake, Saki's already given birth to Nozomu and Nozomu has already been kicking for some years.
Three counter-counters to stab this counterargument though:
- Maybe Nozomu and Akira are actually not too far apart in ages, and Sekai (in this assumption she is someone not blood-related to Arakawa) might also be significantly older than Nozomu instead of being in the same age group with her husband. Not very solid theory though as I think there might already be pre-established knowledge somewhere that can overthrow this but as of now I couldn't remember any detail.
- The way how Miu looks in
A House Near a Lake isn't something that bears much additional meaning, just like how every time Saki in past events showed up only in her highschooler form, even when Yasu reminded Sensei of her name and subsequently her imagery (though pixelated). Her limited sprite is used only for "this person is Miu" and nothing more.
- Miu simply got pregnant with Akira at a much later time, her second pregnancy. What is shown in
A House Near a Lake is her first time, carrying just Sekai. This doesn’t have an apparent hole yet, other than explaining the necessity of assuming Akira potentially being Miu’s son in the first place.
