Whether anyone will actually end up with a happy ending, also remains to be seen. Some characters may not even be able to be happy if others aren't suffering. Some characters may not even make it to the end.
Game is mostly light-hearted teenage girls. Some disturbing scenes that hard to make sense if they are real or not. And some drama.
I don't know why anyone else plays this, but I am several updates behind because I only play this when my depression and psychosis kicks in. I used to watch the most fucked up horror movies I could, preferably ones with bad endings (not the porn game kind). Now I exclusively play this. I need something where bad shit happens to undeserving people so that I can shift my weird self depreciating thoughts onto fictional characters and keep myself functional and prevent self destructive behaviors. This game particularly meshes well with me because all of the trippy shit you see is a slightly worse version of the shit I hallucinate when my depression is active. I enjoy the good moments in the game, but that just makes the bad moments all the more effective at controlling my depression.

Yeah I get that, but since you're asking about the romance I figured I should warn what kind of game it is haha as far as romance goes it's not like, a harem harem. The MC keeps all his relationships private (as best he can) so they're mostly quite contained and have their own romantic moments and shit. Since you brought it up though I love Grisaia lol

I like to think of it as the game forces you to learn to care about the characters you normally wouldn't. The romance is undeniably there, just wrapped up in a very twisted package and in a way that causes you to struggle to self-insert into the MC considering the morally dubious circumstances. That said, it's still a riveting and compelling story all the same and you can still have favorites.

While i certainly wouldn't consider any of the three to be Akira's 'friends', i'd probably put pareidolia as the closest to an ally he has among them. Honestly, aside from the whole maya prime thing, (and also molly ig but that's long since water under the bridge) he hasn't really done anything to directly harm Akira, and last reset definitely made it seem as though he really was playing the villain to force Akira to act. We'll just have to wait and see what future Yumi events bring now that he's found himself a new host though. (He's also my personal favourite of the three purely because he's pretty funny at times)
