2. in chapter 4 I've had more problems with how some of the characters are written than I have with the supernatural plot.

And you said you updated to 0.52 without playing 0.51. Did you at least download the 0.51 patch and update that properly?

Ah, I see how I worded that a bit questionable. I did download the update for 0.51 from 0.50 before 0.52. I had just never had a chance to actually open it up and play it before I updated to 0.52 and start playing. Didn't know if updating without actually opening the game didn't raise a flag along the lines of 'applied 0.51 update fully before 0.52'. Had finished all the content from 0.51 without problem so should have known that wasn't it.

In future, it's probably safer to do it like that. Sel misses things often enough and then has to patch it next update.

Like the time getting 3000 Ayane affection allowed you to talk to Maya again.

No need to thank me, i'm not usually a helpful person around here but that particular trigger requirement is such a dick move i won't hold it against anyone for not using the search bar... even if you did you could so easily miss someone mentioning it so why bother with my usual disdain for folks parachuting in and expecting the regulars to do their work for them?

Very understandable and I really dislike being the guy to ask for help. Found Moonflare's event guide and went around 15 pages past that. Spoiled a lot of the update and got a bit bitter. Tried search bar, no luck anywhere. Tried to be as detailed as possible in question so hopefully helps someone else down the road. Though, not sure if searching will work if 99% of the details were in spoilers. Hmmm. Just finished the update and enjoyed it as a whole so glad I got the help either way.

I was imagining we weren't getting any previews for this next update anyway. Assumedly it's breaking all previous conventions and those spoilers might just explain rather than promote discussion.

Considering almost all of the events are Ayane, I wonder if the ones that aren't will be the reset proper and the final sendoff into the next chapter the sandbox once again.

That's a fair point. I'm new to this AVN stuff, so I apologise if I got the terminology wrong.

I didn't like the fact that one of the love interests gets gang raped after I've already sunk a lot of time into this game. I feel like there should be some kind of tag or warning for something like this, because if I knew ahead of time this was going to be a thing I would have avoided this game. Even though the characters are extremely well written, after that Yuki event I'm definitely done.

OK, never heard anything about this... was kinda quitting after the yumi nodoka part (I realy rooted for yumi) but now... Fuck...

Do you really think Akira gives a shit if Chika and Rin kiss each other behind his back? He's probably happy about it and the only thing that makes him angry is the fact that he wasn't there to stick his dick between their tongues. You can't be cucked by something you want to happen.
You can only get cucked if it's a betrayal of the couple's pact of exclusive intimacy.

There is one solid argument for adding the NTR tag and it's from recently where we quite literally "cuck" Niki with Noriko. The problem is that people expect themselves to be cucked when they see the NTR tag and not the other way around so you'd need to come up with a tag for that. (There's also the matter of Maya getting raped by Ami which is a bit more complex)

"Cheating" is the tag that's absolutely missing because we are the ones doing it non-stop, in fact it's the defining tag for this game because if cheating was illegal then Akira would be facing more charges than the entirety of Epstein Island combined.

I’m super curious how next update will go. It takes place sometime in the supposed future, clearly…

Will it give us a glimpse into what Ayane’s life is like while married to Akira and having Himawari as a daughter? Will we see the rest of the cast as adults or older too? Will Tsuneyo finally remember the Resets after two failed attempts already?

So much to consider…

I hope we get no previews at all, actually. Because the concept for this next part is one we haven’t yet seen before.
