I hope we get no previews at all, actually. Because the concept for this next part is one we haven’t yet seen before.
I'd always want previews but I could understand why he wouldn't.

Confirming Himawari is still there tells us she's taking a more active role rather than just pulling them out of harms way. Confirming whether Ayane stays old would be hints that something major has to happen before the reset is complete otherwise we lose our Ayane, which I'm sure we wouldn't based on other Akira trauma. Confirming any of the other girls are there, and their ages would hint at the story. Seeing more of the backrooms offices would mean we'd have to go back and analyze all we've seen again. Seeing Maya could be hella interesting based on the screenshot.

We would speculate more without the screenshots this update than with. Next update with only main and one character's events will just be compared to this update but this update is novel atm.

I want previews because it's been a long time without LiL already and there's another entire month to go. Don't care about spoilers.
To each their own.

If there are previews (which does seem likely), then I think I’m still gonna go in blind. I think it’s a fun thing to do during major updates, but everyone’s different.

I'm hoping for previews - more than anything just because I don't wanna set myself up for disappointment by overhyping for a month if it turns out this little epilogue segment is moved past quickly or is just something more conventional than our speculation like some flashbacks from Himawari or something.

I look at it like this, post spoilers, post them all, go crazy, but put them in spoilers and then, if you prefer to not see them, you can simply not open them... that way we all win.

So I guess that settles it, we're NOT getting to understand what is going on with the upside down house in LiL - it will be its own game. I guess the same could be said to a lesser extent about Yuu and his "friends". He had already said that some stuff would not be explained in this game, and I guess this clears some of that up.

I guess, good for him? I don't see how it's good for us, unless censoring LiL was actually something that was about to happen.

It could be good for us, if that idiotic Texas law started to get enforced with teeth and would put the whole project in jeopardy if he stayed. In fact, I wonder if that wasn't the major impetus for the move. And honestly, the whole country is collectively losing its mind right now so even changing states might not have been enough.

Yeah, and besides that it should/could improve the quality of subsequent works. Nothing is Beautiful is kinda an eyesore for me so seeing the characters and stuff reimagined properly with better art would be cool. Ditto for music, although that's not really a big complaint for me with LiL and the house is something that I find pretty intriguing so at least the projects are interesting and it's nice to know there's a plan past LiL.

At the end of the day it's all long-term shit anyway though, not much to really speculate on or get excited about at this point when LiL has another five years minimum to go before that other stuff starts lol

Got pinged in the middle of the night, woke up out of my sleep, saw the length and thought it was another FF and now I'm sleepy and whelmed. Good job Sel, I guess. Hopefully when he relocates, he can share the irl location of Shota getting shanked. I'd take a picture there for shits and giggles.

Rambling thoughts:

So is the "factory reset" gonna take away all the admissions and progress from everyone outside of Ayane and Akira? I really hope not cause the development with Tsubasa and especially after the Niki/Osako was fascinating. Would really miss the RAS finally getting going too.

Also I was just coming around to really liking Nu Maya, but it seems she was just here to suffer if she really is dead for good. Maybe Nu Maya as a character was meant to be a parallel how OG Maya must have suffered seeing Sensei break/not be himself all that time?

Regarding the "I'm just a normal teenage girl" line that keeps repeating, does Ami now constantly using that line imply that she has access to OG Maya's memories? Maybe the "pop" of characters getting disappeared is to a prison of some kind she keeps in order to access/torture.

Tin foil hat: Himawari def Ayane future daughter, Maya's abortion is what caused Sensei's suicide, Io Stomach Ache skip is cannon.

Biggest Tin foil: Ami is the target of the lesson in love in the end. From Maya lying to her about her relationship with Sensei and his subsequent suicide, to Sekai death, to her feelings toward Sensei, she couldnt understand love.

This whole thing still sounds like a pipe dream, but probably because he isn’t sharing enough details; not that he has to prove anything to a random internet skeptics though, and not that I care enough about this meh announcement.

Anyway, the main reason of my disbelief is that, to me it would imply that starting next year, he will have to both work on LiL and work for this JP company at the same time, otherwise all this visa talk is just BS. No company will idly wait for 5 years while sponsoring you and providing you your legal stay.

But oh well, at least he figured out the hardest part. I had my suspicions that maybe he thought the only qualification needed to stay in Japan long term is how weeb you are.

him finding opportunities in Japan, I can't help but wonder about the demographic splits of both his readers and his paying subscribers. mostly Americans in both? Americans a plurality in either, or maybe even a minority? regulars/people on this forum may be an servicable enough sample, but a Japanese company being down with Sel's freak I can't help but think on who is actually paying / reading Sel's work
