The "bonus" flag (false) refers to an abandoned mode of the game in which all sexual content was removed. Thus, "bonus" (true) just means the normal/full game (or maybe it's the other way around, I don't have the game open to check). Eventually it will stop appearing, as that mode was abandoned.

As other people have said, mc has an extensive background, including his name - thus, changing it to yours is counterproductive. If you haven't yet, I recommend downloading the guide mod.
That's the perfect answer, thank you! :) readen about guide mod and I always love to start game without it and try myself first. I see it's still not updated almost two weeks after game update and I usually download games I like the very first day it gets updated. If it's required, I won't hesitate for a second.

After what I've readen in some reviews you both may be right. I'm not a guy who attach myself too much to MC, but it's more fun for me to read it with my name and as long as it's not giving me a reason to change it, I'm staying with it and I don't see it as a crime to share knowledge about changing name. For now, I'm just a X tensei'd to MC body ;)

Anyway, I see you both have knowledge about game, I'll be grateful for any tips about bonus variable :)
At the end of the day its your playthrough, so do what you are most comfortable. It's just that there's a lot stuff in the game regarding Sensei's name or lack of it as some characters (him including) do comment on that, so I'm not sure what those dialogues would look like after a change. Probably will take out of the story quite a bit.

Trust me, skip the hassle and just grab the guide mod.

There's usually virtually no hint about whose event is coming up next and by the end of chapter 2 there's 35 characters that all have multiple triggers with many events that can only be triggered on a specific day of the week, plus there's certain events that have completely nonsensical triggers. Flick around the sandbox for a bit by all means but Sel's biggest design flaw at the moment is easily the fact that he hasn't incorporated the guide mod or something like it into the game.

There's also a couple points in the game where you're virtually guaranteed to miss out on content if you don't know about them in advance and the guide mod will tell you that with a little red (!) you can click in the hint screen when they're coming up.

As far as updates go they drop on the 1st of every month, minus a couple months a year for breaks. They're substantial, usually 60-80K words long but sometimes longer, so if you get into the game you won't be waiting around for months on small updates or anything.

For now it only affects how MC's described, when he speaks. All the girls still call him "Sensei". But yeah, when it starts looking weird, changing it back is about 8-12 seconds. Not much of work, when I decide it was a bad idea. Ok, a lil bit more, because game keeps resetting this variable everytime I open game :p not sure, if it's because of game or Sandboxie, but also it's not much of a trouble.

Ok. Now you convinced me :D I thought nothing can be missed here.

The guide mod takes two weeks to be updated.
Yes, and we have an answer for that in the way of trigger guides that are posted a few hours after the release. There's a link to it on the first page. So, for people that are up to date with the update, they follow the trigger guides. For people that are late to the update by two weeks, or doing a replay - it's the trigger guide all the way.

Counter point: wiki exists, a have a useful page where all the updates with correlatiled events are listed so you can just go in order.

In regards to Sekai, Sensei said that she first entered his life because his brother "met a girl", and she didn't even know Akira existed before she found him in the closet.
How do you reconcile that with Sekai playing peekaboo with what pretty much has to be a baby Akira? That game stops working by the first birthday for just about all kids as they gain object permanence by that point...

I may be misremembering l, but I think i remember her saying that "that's a game your mother used to play with you" or something similar.

Well, how do you reconcile Noriko's age in "Kyoto" if she's already sticking to Akira, and yet Ami hasn't been born? :ROFLMAO:

I'm just assuming it's all different realities because otherwise I have no idea. Maybe Selebus doesn't know how to math.

Like all happy events, I consider it to be a window outside of time.

Yes. On the technical side, this game is very user non-friendly unless you get used to it.

I don't know if it was ever mentioned here, but since we briefly touched the topic of Sensei's identity, I've always found it interesting how, even though he was a obvious predator from the start, his pedophilic tendencies basically didn't exist until he rediscovered his lost self. It's like he was simonteniously becoming better and worse as a person. Still don't know if it was planned from the start or just turned out this way.

If I understood you correctly then you are referring to the alternative flavor text Selebus (the dev) implemented to cater to Patreon rules in not having him lust after teenagers and make him an (even more so) wimpy lil asexual person.
Long story short, Patreon booted his ass off the platform anyway, he threw a hissy fit, the whole shabang got scrapped but the flags still exist. Just ignore them.

That being said, the reviews are split and most of the hate Sensei gets is from people not being able to fathom that people with mental issues exist and refuse to play a game that is not about a perfectly normal protagonist (that also can't be named).
Not gonna lie, this image is so good, it made Rika climb a whole rank in my tierlist. Looking forward to her finally getting more attention in the upcoming update.

Pretty sure it was Sekai that was playing the game cause another part of the text mentions how she saw in him a chance to satisfy her darkest desire or something... it's been a while and i don't document scenes like the theorycrafters, i don't even remember what scene it was but no doubt one of them will come along to sort this out eventually...

Roger that! Check hints after every event is a thing I can get myself used to :D

That's honestly one of the things that keeps me intrigued from the very beginning. I know I'm not long in this game, but my first thought after some gameplay time and after reading few comments was that there may be multiple people tensei'd into MCs body. Hope I'll be able to discover much more about it and that future events won't discourage me from playing in which I doubt will happen, because I may prefer lovely harems, but psychological theme is a thing I like outside of porn games and may like it here too, but just never seen anything good.

I'm still salty about it, btw, really wanted to see where the Legend would take us. I can never forget Futaba telling me how she met Rin in primary college. For reasons I still don't understand this was peak Lil related comedy to me.

One more thing, the guide is geared towards getting all the events, but I suggest that getting "100%" in your playthrough isn't the point (unless Sel decides to pull some Spooky Vision thing in the future).
Whenever the guide tells you that a choice or an action will lead to missed events, try to choose or do what you want to see, not necessarily what the guide tells you to (unless don't want missed events, everyone has their own playstyle).

Do I need to check "hints" every time I finish event or notification about missable content appear in some more comfortable way?
If you're tunneling on one girl you should check between every event. Otherwise checking every now and then should be fine. Biggest thing you need to catch that won't give you a warning is Chika's Schadenfreude.

If a event gives you choices, opening the hint window is good practice. Make semi regular saves so you can roll back if needed, don't just overwrite the same few unless you're very anal about checking hints. There's a save numbering mod that helps a LOT for that, some people use URM for saving which I could never get into.

Just started playing and I see with URM that often "bonus" variable appears. Changing it from True to False shows some text suggesting that MC is some kind of pussy.
The Legend of the Huggy Boy was a last minute censoring of all of the explicit content in the game. Bonus is the variable that the game used to separate the two versions. It would also censor certain words like rape to angrily hug, young to young, but old enough to legally consent and uncle to little pogchamp. It ends at the end of chapter 2.

Yep, all my books are changed, why?

It's a porn game, not a novel, I like to identify with MC.

Edit: If game gives me a reason to change it back to "Sensei" and feed me with some lore, I'll do it. I like it when girls call me that way, but when MC speaks, I prefer to see my name and unless game give me another reason, it stays that way :)
You could not be more wrong with that sentence. Feel free to identify with the MC while the game is still lying to you. Eventually you'll figure out what the game is.
