I'll agree as far as the kids and teenagers are concerned, but the adults? Not so much. Maki and Osako would be cool friends to have, and the personalities would mesh well with mine. Don't even get me started on Wakana. She'd be a great drinking buddy for my nihilistic ass.

And as someone who resembles the geriatric bit -- all of the adults are still younger than me.
Maki's puns would grate on me within 10 minutes, Osako is too normie for me, Wakana might be misanthropic but she's also artistic, we'd have nothing to talk about and it's bad for me to spend time with fellow misanthropes, i get worse... Haruka is annoying, predatory and dumb, she'd piss me off within ten minutes as well, Tsubasa is a manipulative user, her behaviour would get me cussing her out at the first sign of her attempting to direct anything, Rika is too whiney for me, Imani is too needy, Sara is a drunk and i dislike alcohol as a vice, Niki is a cunt who acts like she's a gift to the people, am i missing anyone? Yuki... eh... i might tolerate her for an hour or two... would depend on if she was sober and clean... i could probably 'like' her as a co-worker level of connection... a level of distance but regular interaction in a non-personal setting could work... but i wouldn't want to hang out after work...

Bingoogus literally hates Selebus and will hate all characters because they're still Selebus basically :ROFLMAO:

Hard to argue with that. But I'll say that I often tend to ignore the "teenager issue" that he raised because, yes, I only interact with them when I have to, and it gets harder with each year. So when I say that Rin reminds me of myself a lot when I was younger, I tend to either age Rin to my own age (which would make her her mother pretty much), or think of myself when I was her age, and see if we'd vibe.

I think, okay this will be quite ironic, but I'd probably have been the Otoha of my group quite a bit. And I'd probably hang out with Kirins and Norikos, fall in love with Rins, actually date Ios and Utas, and have an Ayane for a best friend.

If you mean fun as in "woo, fun" then probably Touka 'cos she'd be fun to tease or Chinami 'cos she's a little gremlin who makes me laugh a lot. Rin too, she's my brand of goofy.
Chinami has, for my money, the funniest event of the game in "Bad News Bears", where she breaks character because it's hot and her dog mask is suffocating her. My problem, if she were a real person, is that I would be way too sad all the time thinking about how she has such a short life expectancy.

I think, out of all the girls, I could actually be friends with this one.

Everyone: Who, out of all the many girls in the game, do you think would actually be fun to be around personality wise?

I lean heavily towards Io, Nao, and Kaori.
Tsuneyo because she's Her.

She's funny, and deadly, and has little drama going on with her. I would love eating noodles and talking about practically anything with her. (Basically, I'd be like Yuki)

I'd probably try to avoid everyone else. There is too much drama in this cast, and I want none of it:

Of course, I'd prefer if the supernatural stuff going on with Tsuneyo happens when I'm not there trying to eat.

Also, like, how could anyone not have fun with Tsuneyo around? She's so damn entertaining:

Hmm....you know, I started this reply as a sarcastic joke, but honestly all the girls are kinda fucked up in their own way, so we really can't judge Chika for her own special brand of lunacy.
I'm not judging Chika because she's got a bit loony, all of them did at some point in time. I'm judging her because of how long she was willfully loony for. At least 3 years, but this past year especially when she finds out Akira was lying to her and cheating on her presumed monogamous relationship, only to delude herself into thinking its a game, and that she's still winning. She's kind of like Sana, except Sana was immediately and comedically wrong about a lot of things like having the tightest pussy (Even when she brings it up while being deflowered, Sensei can immediately point out a bunch of other girls who are tighter)

Sana's run out of funny for a while though.

I get that. I actually sort of have the same health issue (among others) as Chinami though so that aspect of her situation is more just relatable than anything lol

Yeah I was imagining myself as I was at that age as a schoolmate or something for the teens, not as I am now lol

I'll be honest, you guys worry me a bit... i can't imagine myself being friends with any of these people... they're either kids, teenagers, belong in assisted living or are too normie for me to tolerate any of them... i've no doubt i could get along with a few of them in general, possibly even enjoy my time in their company, but friends... no... i don't get that feeling for any of them... even when playing this out fictionally it doesn't add up to me... i'd rather go home and play video games than deal with teenagers or normies... Kaori seems about the closest i'd get to someone i could tolerate but even she's a bit too kooky for more than brief spurts of interaction...

I could have a conversation with a number of them, that i could do, and enjoy it probably... but yeah, after a few of those i'd be good and looking for my exit to home...
A little yes and a little no for me, but mostly yes. Yes is that I can barely tolerate talking to college kids when I was about Sensei's age teaching them shit, so I'm pretty much in the same boat with you irl; literally cannot imagine the amount of libido Sensei has that can help him withstand all those teenager interactions that will soon blabber your ears off with contexts an middle-aged fucker could never comprehend, though not being as canonically hot as Sensei might have something to do here.

A little no comes from the fact these fictional characters (in fact many JKs in any anime as well) are some impossible amalgamation of personalities, mindsets, and body types that will never appear on a highschooler, so impossible that I could barely identify them as teenagers. We the audience are so very catered that these characters are almost only teenagers by mere setting, not by annoying things we know well that define a everyday teenager (I admit this is not true for some characters, but you get the gist). This altogether quite literally takes the age factor out of my equation when I think about "will I be able to befriend this fictional character?". That answer is still no for most of them but maybe few of them would likely get a yes.

But of course if you compare befriending them irl as an adult with going home playing games, then yea I'll choose befriending John then go home play games. I feel you.

I agree for the most part, but I wouldn't mind someone like Wakana. She is nice all things considered.

Even if I was at the same age as most of the cast, Sana is the only one I'd probably gravitate to because she is was the quiet nerd kind of person, everyone else would irritate the hell out of me real fast. Although honestly I'd probably just be a Sana/Io 2.0 and not talk to people. hm

This is what I intended when I set the question to the group. I find any and all kids below like 25 annoying as fuck these days, so no way in hell would I want to be friends with basically anyone in this game. Even the adults are childish as fuck in action, and words.

But if I was as I was a teen? My original answer stands.

As an early to mid 20s? I think Maki would probably be the best bet. She's funny enough, and I'm sure she has some hilarious and wild stories running a sex shop.

I don't quite get the sarcasm or the joke because, out of Ami, your point doesn't really land. And it's unfair to even include Ami because her situation has little to do with literally anyone else. One could also include Maya on that because she's literally a wish.

How does any of this has to do with the Chika situation, other than the obvious "being groomed by the same dude"? What happened to Chika was that she went insane not just when she found out, she went insane years ago by just rejecting reality and that's where the annoyance comes from. Akira's attempts to either tell her about Niki or that he wasn't her boyfriend are from quite early on. Her arc in itself is fine, that it took years is the annoying bit that I referenced.
The sarcastic joke portion was that I was purposefully comparing one situation to another, and ignoring the nuance. I took each heavily nuanced situation into small blurbs that were accurate only from a single POV of a multitude of potential POVs.

However, as I kept naming people, I came to realize that each of the girls I was mentioning did indeed have their own form of lunacy(Caused by Akira or not). It's harder to see the trees(The girls and their individuality), while still stuck in the forest(Playing the game).

It takes a moment of retrospective to really dig into the nuance, much like you did in your reply.

I do still stand by my defense of Chika, so, for your reading pleasure, I present to you...

In closing; massive TL;DR: Chika is a victim of circumstance, and being stuck in a timeloop as a dumb teenager. I think she deserves a smidge more consideration than being branded as annoying for being broken when the world broke first.

Well, fuck me. Halloween 4 was not at all what i expected.
Also fuck Selebus (but that's probably my default response at this point). Let's see where we go from this mess.
You're in for a ride. Good luck!

If i was their age, I'd stick around... maybe Molly? Because we'd share the weeb part. I'd have a rivalry with Makoto and Nodoka, just because my ego about my "high intellect" would make me not tolerate them having better marks than me.
I would lust for Touka since I always liked such big breasts. I would try to avoid Kirin and Maya because they are annoying ass girls. The others... I dunno.
Oh, Io. She would stick with us guys, I believe. I think Io would have a bro-vibes with boys.

And smh it's connected with Ay after Aomori.

Again color reference: Ay's hairpin = Zeus Temple, Flaming Flamingo=iMaya - I think this has been known for a long time, but I didn’t find any discussion of color theory, and the fact that Green Path color is similar to Demeter Green who highly seeks her daughter Persephone.
Twelve smiles in NiB and LiL are like 12 Olympian Gods.

The color of this Ami's necklace is What's Left that leads to Maya at the beach under the three moons.

Headless Makoto in TSS

Most of this, if not all, has long been cleared up from the story itself. And yet looks like in this game definitely 'everything is connected': patterns, colors, and even weirdly-specific numbers. The latter though I just don't know how.
Sorry but i could understand nothing. Can you explain it in a more digestible way.

It's yet another case of expecting too much out of Selebus, when he has come out multiple times stating that he chooses things "because I felt like it" and "most of it isn't planned at all".

I'll say that at least I could somewhat get what the post was about, there was another one recently that abbreviated all the character's names, and I really couldn't be bothered :ROFLMAO: Please write the first names fully, guys.

The dancing guy first appears in "Ode to a Marsh Warbler" when Sensei disassociates on the anniversary of Sekai's death. I think he's shown up other times connected to SekaiDolia, but I don't remember when.

Damn I thought I did a good job isolating the text, doing a little manual erasing and then having a website ocr the hex for me. I got the same result.

I mean, as a mental asylum escapee with over 2500 pages of text notes for LiL (that amount to a million of hand-written words, plus individual hyperlinks to about three thousand additional screenshots for further context where necessary), I’ll be the first one to defend my fellow schizo by taking a huff of some high-grade copium and claiming that the validity of these statements is *still* arguably very much up in the air.

So, yeah, while a lot of these more abstract/hidden thematical links in Lessons in Love (like the colors, the characters’ names and so on) *could* theoretically be just a “monkey on a typewriter” situation, where the vast majority of these apparent connections and symbols are effectively pareidolic (ha-ha, get it?) in nature and are a product of pure chance rather than careful planning, the fact that so many of them *do* actually make a great amount sense once you grasp the underlying logic and find the right Rosetta stone to begin decoding the cipher makes me wholeheartedly put my faith in Selebus and his potential Grand Design. And maybe I am a fool for doing that – just a naïve deluded idiot who spends their precious time chasing ghosts and uncovering mysteries that don’t actually exist – but even so, I’d rather be a fool who believes than a skeptic who doesn’t.

As they say: without love, it cannot be seen.

Just read his analysis of "Il Cervo" (included in the FanFest package). That's it.

Obviously this doesn't answer all that you wrote. And it's not my intention to. I'm just providing a start, if it's anyone's aim to delve deep into what Selebus "is actually writing" vs "how much more amazing things can be made by engaged and intelligent readers". Things are simpler than they appear. And that's fine, LiL is still good.

The insidious question of just how much of Selebus’ apparent online persona is actually genuine and how much of it is him just simply playing along with the bit [...]
As much as I enjoy your in-depth analysis and despite often catching myself in a similar loop of "what if Selebus actually is a genius?", I'm of the opinion that nobody in the world can fake and maintain such a distinctive persona for that long amount of time this reliably.

And if you are still unsure, feel free to read through his private Twitter page, which is not dedicated to LiL and often focuses on very personal and often political topics (also 90% of posts are baseball rants) and all doubt will dissipate in a moment's notice.

Guy's a bit of a dick but he knows how to write. Fair play.
Similarly to the whole discussion of "Would I be friends with one of the characters?", at the end of the day you don't have to personally like or get along with a person to still appreciate them and their work and input and what they bring to the table.

It unlocks Noriko's true ending.
I'm just kidding, I don't know as I'm pretty sure I didn't pick this option. Knowing Sel however, it will probably cause a bit of flavor text change at best though. Like maybe an occasional mocking comment referring back to it. You could probably check in URM which flag this checks and whether it comes up in the future at some point. Or someone else here might be able to tell you when it's referenced again.
