Already said something like that last month, but gonna say it again : Red has backed himself into a corner, he didn't think beforehand about the end of the story and contrary to the TV show Lost, he doesn't have experienced writers who could still make 75% of the story interesting despite not knowing what ending there should be.
Even leavide suicide gimmick aside, he renders waaaaayy too much scenes of main 2 characters walking around, when all successfull adult VN creators understood you can be a bit more elliptic and there's no need to have one render for each line of text appearing in the game.
Saying "it's slow paced like DmD, you don't understand, you just want porn blahblahblah..." is wrong. Comparing this and DmD is like comparing Sharknado 3 to The Shawshank Redemption. One has way better writing, directing, just about everything. As someone said, along with overall better writing, DmD had the good sense of introducing more willing characters and other side stories to make the slow pace just frustrating enough to be entertaining. We got to see more places, people, in more varied situations than 2 people walking around in the same set for 95% of the time.
Red has many ways to make his game not boring, even without a clear ending in his mind. Instead of this repetitive and unrealistic "I found a suitcase with costumes and/or mind control device/gun whatever...".
They could find another island, inhabited by drug smugglers/a primitive tribe/a secret military base/aliens/some billionaire secret bordello with kidnapped girls... they could encounter just about anything to make this more entertaining but no, it almost seems like Red only has 3 Daz sets : Island, plane, sets from the dream sequence. And he doesn't plan to get more.
About Dream sequences : no matter how weak of a narrative device it is, why did he left it since the last 2 updates ? at least it added some variety.
