They are 2 different games.

Episode 1 is complete and episode 2 is the sequel.

Yup... from what I remember, he stopped at v0.9 & called it Episode 1 because he thought the file size was getting too big. It could also have been that after he updated his rendering machine (his renders have improved a little since v0.1!), he wanted to start afresh.
