I can't find out how to effectively lower dignity since every shower I take ups it by 2 or 3 every day...
Lowering Dignity by 1 per day due to this seems a little low

I'm trying to figure out why you are unable to see Henry each Thursday to 'talk' about the rent. What options did you choose when you met Henry in the entrance area? Or are you saying you've never been able to meet him there?

@BurningSun : hi, in these kind of games I'm more for the branching paths and the development of the main character. I'm not into the videos\pictures because they're (I guess) inconsistent. So my question is: can you play just the text based version? Of couse in this case having good writing can be pretty important.

edit: I guess you can but it's not really implemented. You should think about it in my opinion: just the text and the non inconsistent images (places, icons, and so on). I bet several people would like it

Hmm I understand the reason for your request, and I'll keep it in the back of my mind (Will put it in Notes & to do) so perhaps in the future when Amsterdam is finished I can look at this again. For the near future it will not be a feature I'm afraid.

From memory (haven't played last couple of versions) you can get fired from an existing job (generally for not attending it, may not work for all jobs) at which point you can get another one.

If you have a phone, you can call your boss and tell him/her you want to quit.

A simple hint about the earnings:
You can plan job changes in advance by starting to study for the next job looong before actually changing jobs, the income will be much higher.

I don't remember the game being so annoying before, the slow transformation with 40+ days doing the same thing in each job over and over again, filling the rest of the day with repetetive stuff as well, which you did before in order to achieve the right amount of sluttyness.

Anyway, with the most recent update + old saves NOTHING happens with Henry and Bibi, and I really don't know what to find in the new version apart from the - very nicely done - health club.

Good to hear you like the Health club. I tried to keep it similar to the other areas of the game like the park and beach. But it seems to be liked much better then those areas.

I can relate to the repetitive part at the moment. Though not a whole lot will change to the jobs themselves, I will add more events & fun stuff over time to minimize the repetitiveness.

If you're wondering what you are missing/searching for in the new version, please read the version notes. There is a lot of info in them. You can find them in the game on the left side of the screen.

You help Henry by doing all kinds of small weird jobs. You clean up a little here, move stuff around a little there, you check the board for old flyers, welcome some guests and make the reception look a bit tidier than before. After about 3 hours or so you are [[done|Entrance]].<<set $StatTime += 3>><<set $RentDue -= 10>><<endif>>\n<<display Update>>\n<<set $HenryTask to 0>><<set $Herny += 5>>

Not sure how much of an impact it has exactly. It does seem to cause the (typo) $Herny variable to go into NULL as well. It didn't seem to impact anything however (Could do everything with bibi and Henry), I guess you just miss out on 5 favor for Henry.

Those specific files are not linked in the game yet (i.e. you can't access them by playing it.

They are About 98% of all images/vids are used. It should be 100% But I'm sure one or two slipped through.

Oh, this game is still alive? I was actually just thinking of it earlier today when I stumbled across "Fresh Start" and thought to myself that it's a blatant ripoff of Life Choices.

Keep doing your job and eventually you will struggle to keep Dignity about 50. The game is slow, so you need to work a bit to get to the smut.

Get a job, be patient with it; meaning don't expect endless smut within 10 clicks or so. Some find it too slow, so keep that in mind, you may be one of those, which is fine, but that could mean you don't like the game.

Some beginner tips:
1) Have you bought the map from the store and studied it? (it is in you inventory once bought)
2) Apart from the map, don't spend all your money the first 2-3 weeks or it will result in a game over quickly.
3) Try and keep your morale high as the higher morale, the higher the pay.
4) Keep studying. The more you study, the more perks you get from your study and the more you'll earn.
5) Once you got some money try and get you fitness up to access more events.
6) Read the hints section of the game.
7) Have fun

I stand corrected! I tried finding it through twine at first (CTRL + F) and it told me it didn't exist. but when I just checked now with notepad, the file is indeed called.

There are a couple of "You better show up to work, or else!" moments but they're mostly set in stone. As in, you give in right away or you set him up (Depending on intelligence) and it just continues down the road like a rollercoaster ride. For most of the events, they're forced. I.e. the Library thing with Willem will automatically try to blackmail you into doing whatever he wants, and if you pass an intelligence check, you automatically set him up instead.

That one is also one of the very few (Maybe ONLY?!) ways to keep your job permanently. Great way to keep earning money though! I think that's an oversight by @BurningSun because I think his intent is that all jobs should end eventually.

I tried opening the html data in Twine, but it just wont show up.. just a milisecond of " in progress" and then nothing happens.. Anyone any ideas?
I tried other games, they do work just fine.

I followed this guy's post and it worked fine for me!

It is very easy to do if you use the correct tool for the job, which is the Twine application.

For this particular game you will need a copy of the Twine v1.4.2 application and a copy of the SugarCube v1.0.34 story format, then you can simple import the 'compiled' HTML file into the application and then safely edit your own copy of the story project as you see fit.

Doing it this way means you don't have to worry about accidentally getting the escaping of the relevant HTML reserved characters / symbols wrong, which can result in a broken game.
