So... how are people making enough money to keep up with rent in the early game?
I'm not interested in cheats. I'm looking for what people are actually doing in game to make money. If I don't save scum for random city events which give me euros, I usually end being unable to keep up with rent after the first few weeks - especially after the first period since my morale tends to be kinda lowish, even with me trying to spend more time at the park/mingling at the pub to raise morale daily.
Am I missing something? I legit can barely keep up with rent from week to week, much less being at a point where I can buy anything useful that might increase my base stats daily. And when the base rent increases? Insane.

I got to say this one of my favorite game to play but the new update for to go to job is bit confusing and more clicking involve isn't something I'm a big fan of.
Hmm, thought that was fixed. The current fix to that is to go to diary, and set the cosmetics like makeup and whatnot to "apply after showering", you can also set it to "apply after showering, only when working". When those settings are active, makeup application will also work as it normally did.
Quick and dirty path is to go to the loanshark once you find him, take a loan, and say you can not pay once the loan is up. He will tell you to do whatever it takes to earn money, which will unlock whoring very early. I have actually tweaked the html to make whoring slightly less rewarding in my game because eventually the money earned is ridiculous. Other than that, aspects like job skill (from studying) and looks (past just the base requirements) seem to influence money earned, not just morale.

And still, after playing lots of other f95-games - and i mean the big ones with more than one programer- i´m still in love with this game.
So here it is, my first bugreport and post ever:
After few minutes ingame, exploring the first new arranged areas (bijlmer area if i remember correctly) the MC was asked something like "someone wants to grope your breast" and after declining it (low dignity
) it sent me directly to:
Error: the passage "$location" does not exist.
Not a big deal, because i could easily restart.
Anyway lets fix all the bugs and make it a great game

Unless the dev is using matrix's/matrices/Neo's(however the fuck its spelt), cheating in Twine games is fairly easy. You can access pretty much every variable you'd want, with some exceptions, through your browsers dev console.
In Firefox and Chrome it'll be the same basic process, but I suggest Chrome cause it's faster. Idk how to do it in Safari and if you're using Edge I don't know what to tell you. All this should work on mobile as well. FYI, I suggest chrome so you don't need to type everything out and can just double click the numbers to change them.
In game, after the intro to avoid unnecessary glitches, press F12. That'll either open a separate window or an in browser frame. Click the tab at the top labelled Console then click next to the > symbol to type.
To see the variables you can alter easily this way, type (without quotes): "SugarCube.State.variables"
You'll see a line appear underneath, click the arrow on the left and that'll expand all the variables. In chrome, double click the number to edit them. BE CAREFUL, you can easily set a value too high or mess with one that shouldn't be touched. To be safe and not wreck your game, stick to things like cash, energy, hygiene, dignity, etc. The variable for Liberal is not called liberal btw, I can't remember what it is off the top of my head but I think it's something like Free maybe? Could be totally wrong.
If you're using Firefox you'll have to type out the whole string instead of double clicking. So for energy you'd do SugarCube.State.variables.Energy = 100 for full energy. Capitalization matters. Save before trying cause ya, it'd suck to lose your progress or find out after an hour that you touched some variable that you shouldn't have and now some events are spawning.
Almost forgot, if you are typing out the commands, pressing the up arrow will let you scroll through the stuff you've entered before. Plus changes wojn't take effect until you do something in game. So if you're in a shop when adding cash it won't show you having the cash till you leave and come back for example.

Where is the loanshark?? Also I have encountered the red light district and am asked about it, but I keep declining. I got lucky and found the 96 euros every now and then and was doing pretty good for a while, but now starting to run out. I am making like 46 from flower shop..
Also for those with makeup issues you have to check it under diary to use it when you apply it.

I don't know this for sure, but I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon the loanshark as the 4th or 5th flyer in the entrance area. If not there, it was a random event in town. Either way, it was far along and not early game.
Any other tips for making money? One game my morale went bad, the next I had lots of morale, not much dignity and was liberal, but fell behind on rent pretty quick. Still haven't run into loan shark.
Actually never mind, I figured it out.
Go to diary and uncheck "never apply makeup". The green tick - "use makeup whenever applying makeup" (weird) means applying makeup will ... apply makeup
Speaking of the loan shark - is he bugged? When I go to pay back my loan and tell him that I don't have the money yet (after the due date), the next screen has no action buttons... it's just a page full of him screaming at you to get him his money back and there doesn't seem to be anything that I can click to continue.
I want to like this game, but man, this shit is hard as fuck. Taking the modelling job seems like fun, but it's only four days a week and when your morale is plummeting for no real reason, you're barely getting paid shit. I'd like my Lizzy to be corrupt, but slower, I don't want to immediately jump into prostitution, but I can't figure out how to balance, well, anything and it's frustrating. Also, your morale should jump back up following being on a period, it's ridiculous that it stays low when the reason why it's low is because you're on your period....
EDIT: Searching "money" in this thread brings up countless posts about the same thing with the only real option being "save scum and hope for wallets". That's dumb as fuck. If this is an issue for everyone, why the fuck hasn't it been addressed? The only job that gives you enough money to pay rent, is, ironically enough, the only "temp" job and even then you can barely scrap by when Aunt Flo comes to visit.
