playing around with 3.0beta1 and some weird behavior

a couple of times a relative has been overwritten by a clone of another NPC both name and appearance
several times I've had a random encounter with name (relative) and they are definitely not a relative
probably just a quirk of the RNG, but after making a megan my girlfriend, the next 3 NPCs created were megan meghan megan
and of course the already known camera showing the back of furniture

It seems some of the things that happened too often before (new neighbors moving in, being introduced while on a date, NPCs coming up and asking political questions EVERYWHERE) happens even more often now. How many houses are on a block that 6 new neighbors can move in everyday, lol.

Dont remember this game ever having a 2D map! It had 2D backgrounds if thats what you mean.

When I start the game I see a low-poly 2d "map" of whatever city with low poly houses etc...and the icon of the guy moving about on this map. Scenes etc. are only triggered with some action like moving into an apt etc. (TBH, I find the UI and generally controlling/playing this game extremely confusing and un-intuitive).

The "map" which I see has little in common with the screen shots and clips I see here. I mean, one expects a game with a certain percentage of "action" (which the game obviously must have, judging from the screen shots). But 95% of time I am only moving around on this map. This is why I am asking whether he plans to turn this into an actual 3D game.

Can I ask are you using any mods? Specificaly my 'Set relationship V3' because I was getting the same behaviour and put it down to a bug in that?

I have one of the relationship mods but not v3, I was going to wait on that one

Ok guessing this isnt mod related then, which is a relief for me! I had the behaviour you mention twice and both times it was straight after I played a save after the latest version was installed. Since then it hasnt happend at all, So maybe just a one off thing?

I've had a relative overwritten 4 times since installing beta1. Haven't noticed a pattern yet.
I turned off all the extra mods and still had the name (relative) show up.
Haven't had a relative overwritten since turning off the mods but haven't played long and it is rarer than the name (relative).

reduce the Esc > Settings > Scene Frequency
The multi threading allows the game to check conditions faster so if a scene isn't timed out and its conditions are met, it will trigger.
Those scenes simply have short default timeout, I already increased the timeouts on some of them in the vanilla module, but some mods overwrite them with the original timeout so I can't really do much on my end anymore.

I turned it as low as I could (0.2) and still like 4 or 5 scenes for every somewhat long time to go action. I'm guessing that is the low and not something like 99 or whatever's highest. I tried to go 0. I just end up emergencying almost everything out but new neighbors/introducing adds the NPC anyway so I wait until there are some, unlock and delete all the unwanted ones.

I still wonder why this game with its great potential and a real dedicated developer, with its regulary updates and the way Vinfamy communicates with the community ... Why aren't there more supporters on patreon?

No accusation intended, just wondering

Besides that i have two questions not related to the update ...

1. Is it possible in script to choose the colour/s of clothing?
For example Actor.dress(Office-Dress_1_F,Office-Jacket_2_F,Pointed-Flats_1_F) creates the outfit but with randomly colours. They mostly match together, but i want to give the clothes specific colours ...

2. Is it possible in script to choose a specific sex postion to start with?
I know i can use the tags to reduce the available positions, but i want one specific position ....

that changed with wicked whims,but it is not as good as this game, are you gonna check if your modules are still working with v3? i found out that not all of the custom made modules are working right with the latest beta (including the mod launcher)

Judging from the images etc. in the OP, one would expect a 3D game. Yet, when you play, you spend most of the time moving an icon on a stylized map.

Sims 3 actually has things happening. All the sims have a life. In terms of context it is the best.
Skyrim is kinda dead.

Or an alternate theory, Lifeplay is totaly free! supporters dont get a great deal other than gratitude. You are playing the same version as the supporters, unlike a lot of patreon stuff!
Now personaly I spend a LOT more time looking at the 3D stuff from the OP as you put it, the maximum I am normaly on the map screen is usualy around 5 to 10 seconds! So maybe it isnt the game! I do get that quite a few people dont seem to like or grasp how to play it. But to be honest throughout all the critisism and coments Vinfamy has stuck by this far more than most Patreon story based games(How many porn games even get half way finnished) People complained the models are bad, Vinfamy replaced them all as soom as he could. Theres no life just an Player and scripted actions, Look at the new update plan! It's a work in progress done by one man, give him a chance to get everything done you might be plesantly surprised!
Lifeplay: Free /unfinnished
Sims4: $300+/Origin
Sims3: FuckKnows/Broken and never repaired
Fallout/skyrim $30-40/ Bethesda
I have no idea how many staff maxis and beth employed for those games, but I am guessing its more than 1.
OK so i'm a fanboy lol, well actualy Im not but I do think he deserves a little credit for supplying a FREE porn game of this quality.

Not only that, EA games tend to be chock-full-of-bugs and install draconian spyware/DRM that can prevent other software from working. Or even that later versions of Windows won't run (the drive used to run SecuRom was disabled with later updates of Windows 7/8 and not included in computers running windows 10.
