See the screenshots, and the video clips in the OP, with the sex scenes and text.

And now start the game. What do you see? You see this:

There is obviously a big gap between expectation, and how the game presents itself.

Judging from the images etc. in the OP, one would expect a 3D game. Yet, when you play, you spend most of the time moving an icon on a stylized map.
Or an alternate theory, Lifeplay is totaly free! supporters dont get a great deal other than gratitude. You are playing the same version as the supporters, unlike a lot of patreon stuff!
Now personaly I spend a LOT more time looking at the 3D stuff from the OP as you put it, the maximum I am normaly on the map screen is usualy around 5 to 10 seconds! So maybe it isnt the game! I do get that quite a few people dont seem to like or grasp how to play it. But to be honest throughout all the critisism and coments Vinfamy has stuck by this far more than most Patreon story based games(How many porn games even get half way finnished) People complained the models are bad, Vinfamy replaced them all as soom as he could. Theres no life just an Player and scripted actions, Look at the new update plan! It's a work in progress done by one man, give him a chance to get everything done you might be plesantly surprised!
Lifeplay: Free /unfinnished
Sims4: $300+/Origin
Sims3: FuckKnows/Broken and never repaired
Fallout/skyrim $30-40/ Bethesda
I have no idea how many staff maxis and beth employed for those games, but I am guessing its more than 1.
OK so i'm a fanboy lol, well actualy Im not but I do think he deserves a little credit for supplying a FREE porn game of this quality.

Not only that, EA games tend to be chock-full-of-bugs and install draconian spyware/DRM that can prevent other software from working. Or even that later versions of Windows won't run (the drive used to run SecuRom was disabled with later updates of Windows 7/8 and not included in computers running windows 10.

I do think if you like this game and can afford to you should support. If you support you do get more input - you can request cities/positions/scenes - more the more you pay. Even $1 a month would help, but more than that is better if you can afford.

I have a suggestion - removed the "new" from the names of sex positions that have been there for over a month or so.

For any that want it, this file slighly alters the new 3D Livingroom(Moved the TV)so you can see scenes in the room instead of the back of the tele. This is just temporary untill Vin fixes spawns and camera positions, updating the game will overwrite it back to how Vin intends. Unpack to 'LifePlay\LifePlay\Content\Modules\vin_Base\World\' and Overwrite old file. Will update more as I find or am told about them.

that changed with wicked whims, but it is not as good as this game, are you gonna check if your modules are still working with v3? i found out that not all of the custom made modules are working right with the latest beta (including the mod launcher)
Sims does suck, but its more playable than this. Sims 3 kinky world was great. The only issue is the games limitations; i.e the loading times, and no 64 bit. Not to mention all modding support died when whicked whims came out.
Whicked whims and the support it gets is cool. But sims 4 fucking sucks. I hate how limited you are, compared to sims 3 its like going from a field to a hallway. Its crazy.

But to say WW isn't better than this is a bit unfair. Sims 4 is all about imagining real interactions rather than seeing events with dialogue. The strength that lifeplay could be its writing. Or if it wants to attempt some actual gameplay, it could do that as well.

Not really, my patron count / player count is something like 7% (above 10% even if you count past patrons / one-off donations too) - which is very high for any internet donation things. People who actually know about the game and play it do usually enjoy and many do support it. My average pledge used to be lower than average but after the $500 fundraising call it's now above average too. So honestly, I can have no complaints about the support I receive from my current players, especially when you consider there's non-financial support (modding, promoting, etc) beyond that 7% patron rate too.
The problem is a lot more fundamental - not that many people actually know about the game and play it. With all these improvements I've made to the game, the number of downloads each update has remained at 2,000 pretty much since May 2018! Which is very frustrating but I can't really do much more than keep on 'building it and they will come' and ask people to spread the word.
I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that it's always much harder for me to grow the player base than most other creators because LifePlay is so unique compared to the countless RPGMaker / Renpy games out there. There's no existing 'incest visual novel market' of 1 million people that the game automatically 'qualifies' for as long as it's good. I have to find my own players from scratch basically ...

Is there a way to limit the number of NPCs that are continually generated?
Use this if you want. From my personal mods, when you meet someone they are automaticaly permanant. This just makes it so if you refuse the exchange contact they are deleted. However if they refuse you they are still in game, It lets you choose who stays in game and who doesnt. Unpack to 'LifePlay\LifePlay\Content\Modules\vin_Base\Scenes\meet_random' Overwrite files. Updating will break this, so if you update and want to keep it, you will have to reinstall it. Not perfect and doesnt block all of them but it keeps the numbers down a bit.

NIce idea, you may want to turn it into a regular mod once 3.0 stable comes out.

Better Pregnancy also overwrites the base meet random.

I see 3.0 is on TPB now. Shouldn't be a problem as the game is free and even the "pirated" version will have the links to support for anyone who wants. Just gets it out more.

tbf even downloads and donations aren't connected; i'm a patron but i'm also waiting to give 3.0 a few more iterations before I give it a go. though i realize my patience in that regard might be something of a deviation from the norm, heh

I don't see any real bugs in my play. I'm waiting to see what comes in the next releases. Especially once it's not everything being done by RNGs.

Bug summary:
1. 3D male fingers occasionally abnormally elongated

2. male hair color error, beard body hair does not show black

3. The horizontal tension strip of clothing coincides with the thick density horizontal tension strip of hair

4. Some clothing colors can't be changed

These are all old bugs

Yeah sorry Forgot about that, I run this from a modded directory that runs after better pregnancy. The only thing it stops is random pregnant people being introduced. I did make a 'BP' compatible version a while ago, but was waiting for the author of bp to come back, so I could get permission to release it. As for making it regular, I will wait and see what Vinfamy does in the next version. I already made a version of this that actualy controls the number of people introduced in game. EG you can set a max number of neighbours etc.

Ok I am going out on a limb a little here, but I am fairly sure SB wont mind me messing with his script. This is a better pregnancy version of the meetblocker. If you refuse to exchange contact with someone they will be deleted and no longer in the game(Saves too many npc's)This wont delete any normal people, only people when they first contact you.
Extract to 'LifePlay\LifePlay\Content\Modules\sb_BetterPregnancy\Scenes\meet_random\' Overwrite files.
NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE RUNNING BETTER PREGNANCY!

As 25 years an indie deleloper, I feel and understand your pain . One year my game paid for my house, previous and next games hardly even got noticed! I know a couple of popular sites, When I am back into modding and finnish these few I have going, I will make a couple of more specific (fetish) mods to try and attract some attention from there. Also I wish I could donate in a more financial way, but I have had to give up work and my mrs wouldnt understand me donating to a porn game(All bank accounts shared lol). But if your still going when I kick it your in the will lol. Well sort of my eldest lad knows to dump some dosh on you :ROFLMAO:.

A problem - several locations lead to sex scenes behind a wall, behind and object or even inside an object. There is still that BAD bedroom where the camera is behind the wall and even pushing forward the characters are in a bad location - like sunk into a bed. An important update would be fixing spawn/camera locations. Starting with a wall, etc in front is unacceptable.
