I don't come her very often anymore, but this post gave me a chuckle so I will reply. As someone involved in game dev for around 40 years, yes I am that old! The problems with Lifeplay started a very long time ago. One of the first real bugs was the old underwear showing through the clothing, although I tried to help with advice on using shaders to hide body parts and clothing, when underneath outer garments, it was too much trouble to be bothered with, and Vin just removed all the underwear. Almost every bug since then has been gone around or ignored, I have looked at the code on many occasions and came to a simple conclusion. I am also quite sure this is why Lifeplay is abandoned, it is a total mess of spaghetti code. Trying to fix it, is nonsensical, if you can understand it, and that is a very big IF, it would be quicker, cleaner and all together better just to start again and remake it from scratch.

Remaking it from scratch? That's actually what, as a matter of fact, I already guessed was the only way to get it done. The animations, which I believe might need some rework as well on some level, the sounds and a few more assets were most likely the only things I would have saved from the original author's project. Adult animations and sounds are, in particular, one of the hardest resources to find when developing an adult game... definitely not the kinda assets we can find on FAB, right?

PS: "Spaghetti code" the reason of the for abandoning the development of the game? I kinda agree with that too. I can imagine that guy waking up one day and going back to work on his project to suddenly find out he was lost into the same deadly web he created! Luckily I'm one of those clean-organized-codes-maniacs who never gets caught in there.

seems like a sims killer (tbh the sims killed itself anyway)
So true... and I can say that even more now after trying to fix again what the latest update made my mods broken tonight when trying to go back to the game after several months of absence!

Is there a way to change the color of your outfit? I don't like that I have to keep going in and out of the shop until I get the color I want.

I've been looking around and looking in the files, but I can't find the command to save a favourite location.... Can anyone refresh my memory?

I know that if you click on a location, you'll be able to favorite it that way. I also think you can favorite positions with the button F, but I don't think it works for locations.

I don't care about the bad rep this game has, going from zero to being a multimillionaire girlboss with a monopoly of restaurants over NYC with ties to the mafia and 7 children to inheirit her business from 7 different dads who then I had killed was fun.

I admit I don't have the patience to search through all 795 pages. Can someone tell me which mod adds the random TF scenes and which the gamble scene ?
Thanks in advance

Here's one I've been playing with... I think it turned out pretty well. I think the physique is pretty good, the face... less so, but decent. What do you think?

If your going to start from scratch, a few thing to consider.
Dropping the real life locations. It's a fun gimmick but didn't really work, apparently the garden centre near me was actually a whore house! creating a sims style area's would allow much more control, stability and let you create environments tailored to the game, this would also allow theming them, think lifeplay medieval, sci-fi lifeplay.
Consider keeping the sex in the main game routine, Lifeplays way of making sex sort of a mini-games disjoints it from the main gameplay and causes all sorts of problems with the scenes.
DO NOT break relationships into different types of people. In Lifeplay relatives and no-relatives are completely different beings, again this caused major issues.
Make all furniture contain activators for the actors, look at how bethesda does their furniture. Then trigger sex scene's to these activators. You now have laying sex on beds, tables, rugs, sitting sex for chairs edge of beds etc, etc.
Shaders, use graphic shaders to hide body parts, and underwear. Each item of clothing has a shader that blocks the poly's underneath it. So a bra would block the poly's of the breast, a dress would block the polys of the bra and the breast. It is actually fairly easy to do, makes the clothing all fit better, looks better, and costs almost nothing in performance.
Doing these things would however mean it was no longer Lifeplay, but it would also be far superior.
Lastly a couple of other things to think about.
Get a group!!!, You need two coders, an animator, and a 3D modeler.
Do not be greedy Patron destroyed Lifeplay!
Also your comments on assets are not correct, most people who can do basic animation, could make sex animations. They are not that hard, look at loverslab on the sims pages! also I believe some of the sex animations in Lifeplay were from Skyrim/fallout. Sounds, contact someone who plays with AI speech. The sounds and speech could be made in a couple of days, again this isn't difficult.

What is your guy's opinion on the game, InZOI. I was just looking at it and I feel like it could be similar to LifePlay once mods are added to the game (If the game is mod friendly). It's supposed to come out in about 6 weeks. I just hope my laptop will be able to run it.
I expect it to fail.

It’s too focused on graphics and visuals, and I haven’t seen anything positive in its gameplay. I think it will end up becoming the Black Desert of life-sims.

Any games like this or Sims 4 for mobile??
Not really. Such a game on mobile is very unlikely to happen, maybe if the game was run on a cloud server and streamed to the mobile device, but even then you'd have to come up with a very slick UI to make it satisfying.

InZOI looks very promising, and the Nvidia AI feature for NPC decision making seems like it could add a lot of depth to interactions. But I wouldn't get too excited just yet.
Simulation games like this are extremely hard to pull off in a satisfying way. Remember that even professional studios with experience in this genre have failed. Just look at "Life by You" getting cancelled by Paradox. LBY was supposed to have everything we would want from a Sims competitor, with huge customization options and a way to make your own stories for others to play. But it was cancelled because the development wasn't going as expected.
The Sims 5 codenamed "Project Rene" seems to have been cancelled now. To think that even Maxis would scrap the development of a new Sims game is wild to me, but I think it just confirms how difficult games in this genre are.
The only other Simlike game apart from InZOI is Paralives, which is still being developed at a slow pace cause of its small team.

I don't blame the LifePlay devs for abandoning this project. It's incredible that a bunch of amateurs managed to make the game as functional as it is. Indie developers can do a lot, but at some point the scale of certain projects necessitates a large team of professionals to maintain and expand the codebase. It sucks but I think any attempt at reviving this project would require a huge pooling of money to get some experienced devs to even look at the codebase.

Yeah, you put a lot into perspective. Here's hoping it succeeds.
