On the other side of that this story started 2 1/2 years ago and the last time the story had any new content was 10 months ago. I generally play these more for an interesting story to pass an hour or two than anything else but when the story is so spread out it doesn't really have as much of an impact as you have forgotten half of it anyway. If you buy a book you wouldn't read one chapter every 6-10 months would you
The inevitable result of this being a one-person endeavor I'm afraid.

Reason most devs don't do it this way btw, is because it's also not the smartest move from a financial perspective: releases bring patron hikes, ergo more releases, more patron hikes.

It also clashes with the expectations players have developed from devs with more, well... sound business practices than mine. And funnily enough, that expectation leads to quite a few accusations in my direction of being a greedy milker for putting out releases much less frequently than some others, which is kinda ironic.

But I want to tell this story in these big installments and that means that there's effects like those you mentioned, and that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

It is true that the further the updates are from each other, the more difficult it is to stay in the dynamics of the game, especially if in the meantime we are playing other games that are just as exciting. I often had to go back to the story at its beginnings to immerse myself in the scenario and hang up the new update to the previous ones. But it's not a waste of time, especially if the DEVs take the opportunity to rework the previous episodes. And then shit! If we're not happy, we go to the cinema or read a book ... or watch a porn movie. :giggle:

A good practice perhaps is to play the game again, at least from the beginning of the previous chapter. That way, you can remember where you left off and have feeling of "continuity" once the new chapter is released.

Anyway, I am not sure if this has been asked or requested naughtyroad , The gallery feature doesn't have text content. Would it be troublesome to include text so we can fully enjoy the completed scenes when we decide to revisit it?

And I think this is where people that have complaints about the development and release cadence should simply find another game to play.

Do I like the cadence? No.

Would I stay invested in the VN if it weren't this good? Absolutely not.

Is it fair and reasonable to constantly needle, pester, badger and insult naughty for doing it "his way" when he tells everyone what "his way" is? No, and I think it shows a distinct lack of social awareness to harangue naughty about LoML. I am ambivalent about 90% of the adult games that I have come across and I can't even begin to imagine wasting a millisecond arguing with the developer about it - I just move on. The handful of times that I haven't have been to provide solicited feedback on a technical issue or something similar, and not to try to wheedle the developer to make their project to be more the way that I want it.

Ask yourself this - how much of my finite, valuable, will-never-get-it-back time am I wasting harassing a guy writing a visual novel? I submit that, if the answer is anything greater than zero, you need to seriously reevaluate your quality of life.

I read the text during H scenes and when something interesting happens, but I am not gonna read the text during every single slice of life dinner event. People like you need to understand that the situation is not black and white. If I really refused to read anything ever in my life I wouldn't have cared to even engage in this conversation. I probably wouldn't have played this game.
It's OK to be interested only in the sex scenes. Healthy people enjoy sex. But the sexual event itself will be more fulfilling, more enjoyable if it comes in a package, containing arousing, sexual tension, complicity, teasing, and finally the mechanical part of sex, the tension release. That's the subtle distinction between an erotic movie and a pornographic movie. Both deal with sex, but the former creates the right atmosphere for the sex to happen naturally, while the latter just presents you with the sexual act.

Playing only the sexual part of a good erotic game like "Light of My Life", is a good experience but somewhat empty. It is not the complete, fulfilling experience one can get from that game. If you let yourself get involved in the story, you will understand the characters' motivations, why they are doing what they are doing, and when the sexual part happens it will be much more enjoyable than just a good sex scene!

For analogy it would be like for a football fan (soccer fan in the US) to discover that there would be a good football match on TV and he decided to watch it. He would have fun, since he enjoys football. But it would be a complete different experience if it was a match of the football team he supports, and he went to the stadium, and he felt the whole atmosphere of the event, and he knew the importance of that match for his team, if it wins it will qualify for the bigger continental competition the next season, or even win the championship. Both are just a football match, but you cannot compare the two experiences.

Now imagine the football fan magically getting a mashup recording of that great game that only showed the goals.

dudes...I feel mr Tarzan is a genuine fan of this game that has a very particular way to enjoy it and that's fair, we could argue all day about if is the most optimal way to enjoy it, but in the end, he is happy with skimping trough dialog and jumping trough the sex scenes just as we are happy reading every single line and that's fine...

I know Mr Tarzan is not a troll since he doesn't actually harass naugthyroad to make the game more sexy and less wordy... he understands NR's vision and even though he doesn't share it, he still finds enough enjoyment on the game to keep playing it and stay up to the newests updates. Maybe one day he will be more willing to invest time and energy to really read everything and find out the amazing little details hidden between the lines, but that day is not today and is not up to us to take him there...

let's be happy everybody in this discussion enjoys the game and focus on what's really important how much clay would be necessary to make a replica of Denise's massive ass?
