Sorry, no stock daz models. It's about half a dozen morph assets for bodies and faces and a whole lot experimenting and iterating with a bunch of sliders.
Can't Imagine how long you've been trying out each slides to get those results.
Best unique characters seriously man good job.

P.S.
If you find a way to share it you'll get a ton of fanart :p

Story is developing nicely and it seems like the characters have a shit load of work and thought put behind them. Just one issue tho, the younger daughter's character is way too pushy and no matter how you play the game she ends up getting what she wants. Branching storylines would be much more appreciated or at least for her character to be a bit less pushy.

FINALLY! A realistic art concept combined with incredible writing. So tired of the same models being in every game i try. So upset i played it all the way through in one day. Wish i wouldn't have binged and left some for myself. But now i know for the next chapter. Looking forward to it.
This. The different (or should I say normal looking) characters add very well to the story. Did not even take long to get used to it, maybe going as far as saying it is cute as hell. Cannot wait for more, thumbs up for the dev (y)

I do get where you're coming from, but from a workload perspective, having radically diverging branches in LomL doubles the amount of work, while halving the audience for each branch (discounting replays, but that will be a small percentage of players). That works well without much overhead for games that by their nature handle modularity well (free roamers and grinders, where events are designed to be triggered by different circumstances and to stand on their own), but not so well for something with a story line woven tightly around a few characters that have a lot of interaction.

Being just a one-man show with a regular dayjob, it's just not feasible for me to implement that and still show meaningful progression from one update to the next. I do try to have choices that let you move about a bit within the confines of the story line to flavor your experience and voice your MC, and I offer choices that let you cut yourself off from parts of it, but that's the extend I can manage.

And that is all that is needed so keep up the great work and do your story your way.
Above all else have fun doing your thing.

Sorry, but I do not agree. There is one thing that LomL does great: It makes me feel, as if my choices matter, without the feeling to miss out on too much. I don't like being forced to replay a whole story only to get all content. For me, the perfect VN makes good use of the 'go back function', but gives you all (or most of it) in one playthrough.

I think you are approaching this the correct way 100%, I would rather enjoy a well told rather linear story than a branchy choice heavy game that just makes you grind in pursuit of rather pointless sexual encounters that tend to be thrown in there for the sake of sexiness. Sure those games have a place too, but I think your work so far has made it clear (to me anyway) that the story is front and center. Like I said in an earlier post I almost wish it wasn't a porn game cause you really caught the dramatic atmosphere in this.

Yep, I think naughtyroad found a good balance here. Plenty of choices that have enough impact but never going the overly branchy route. Im kinda an extremist here though, if I see a map or anything that makes me think sandbox I instantly quit and delete the game :D

I don't think being a game that focuses more on the sexscenes is a bad thing, even if it's more about story. I think the reason why so many see a bad association in "porn games" is because not even many developer and gamer think of "porn games" as something that could be more than just something for when you are horny and have not a high standart. I hope that games like Light of my Life will change that. Having the option for sex in your game should be seen as an oportunity to enrich your story with new elements (including much more serious topics, if needed), to finally be able to tell it without boundries in a less prude way. I don't mean all "porn games" should be like that, but I would be happy if it would be taken more serious like novels, or films. Because it is not just a game, it is a medium equal to all others. (and no worries I know how you meant it, I just think strongly about that)

I feel you, the sandboxy games are often annoying, I do play them if they manage to get interesting enough characters but I really do prefer the games that stay focused. Especially because the very branchy games tend to take sooooo long for story to develop when updates take 1-3 months and they often lack depth, with a few exceptions.

I get you, I agree that we need to be less prudish overall as a society even though I realize its not for all and thats fine. The reason why I say I kinda wish it was not a porn game is because I really feel like LoML touches on the feels and actually has the story to carry itself without it. It does however add something to the story, or rather I feel it will since not much has happened yet. I do feel like the game is a game about studying the human condition, maybe I'm reading more into it than I should but it deals with birth (in a way), death, grief, loss, love and most of all forbidden love (the oldest). This makes it interesting to me and makes it really stand out.

I just hope this game develops naturally and does not start going down the rabbit hole of checking off kinks... like so many other games on here seems to do.

I totally share your opinion to all of these points. Games should be able to make you want to play them even without sex. I don't think studying the human condition is the main point of this game, but it comes with it when you tell these topics in such intimate manner. And to that kink rabbit hole, that is a big problem with way too many games. When it comes to NaughtyRoad, I think (based on my observation) he has a clear direction and puts his vision first.

I'm pretty thankful naughtyroad choose the style of game he did, I think it fits his story and vision perfectly. I just wish he had, say, either his own company developing this game or enough money so he could make it his full-time job. But people who try the game are going to love so growth will happen in time.
