Does obtaining Brax as a slave early block you out of other content with him (like does he do anything besides sitting by Candi for example) or is that just kind of the normal progression of his story?
There's no content with him beyond his point in the story. Getting him as a slave and/or transforming him into female is the end of his content.

Hmm, from a quick glance, it looks like he hasn't gotten anything in years despite potential content regarding him being teased in-game (like freeing him). Even worse, he was seemingly planned to be a full companion until that aspect of the game was more or less cut out. Most unfortunate.

Getting him as a slave/transforming does nothing to the story, besides extra dialog with some NPCs like the one police officer in the slave pen area who controls the stocks.
I geinuely wish he had more content because I keep him as my male slave/i guess kind of lover after he "warmed up to me". I don't know, he falls directly into my gay version of "I can fix her" so I like having him around. Plus, having him in combat with the police attire/weapons can help in battle and cant be counted as contraband. So you pretty much can have your own police dog on a leash who can not only take a lot of damage but can also be used to carry contraband.

depends on your desired depth. LT is like a 1-inch deep lake in terms of content. While the futa content in CoC2 is like an entire 1/4 of the npc content.
You are pretty much trying to compare an apple and a pear, but if i had to weigh in I would say that CoC2 might come out on top even with all futa content carved out of it and replaced with cis (yes mods I see you) hetero or homo content.
This is because it still has a greater "story" depth then LT.

I was quite looking forward to buying his freedom instead of enslaving him, potentially bringing out his more sincere and affectionate side, alas. Rougher characters like that softening up and genuinely falling in love is always peak romance.
I actually think it's bizarre that random shopkeepers seem to have romance quests, but the companion you meet in the main questline with all of this stuff planned (or was planned) is put on ice indefinitely. The priorities don't make sense to me; I feel like it's safe to assume that this is one of those games whose direction is all over the place because it's determined by polls/etc that wealthy Patreon subscribers vote on.

If its anything like TiTS, CoC, DoL, and etc (which I have not looked into) then it also heavily relies on contributor content which always throws wrenches in the works.

Yeah it seems they just don't have a concrete road map to use and just do whatever like their current obsession with this doll content. Like I was really looking forward to the Silent and Shadow content that was teased so long ago on the subscribestar I couldn't tell you when it was announced that just randomly never happened. Hell I'm pretty sure someone on here said that they found pregnant busts for them in the files I believe,it's just sitting there doing nothing.

Does anyone else keep brax around in male form as thier boytoy? I mean I know I hypnotize him into being gay but even then hes fun to keep around.
I will say that increasing his tone until hes a musclebound hunk is really nice.
on a side note I hope somone makes a mod to add jock clothing like letterman jackets or such to the game.

You can always make your slaves masochists and punish them to make them like you and obedient at the same time.
When I keep slaves, I don't find it taking too long to max out their affection and obedience.
And since I don't keep a lot of slaves, I also don't need a lot of rings that makes them masochists.
Yo, is there any way to disable male offspring anymore? I remember back before version 0.4.1x.x, offspring gender/genitals/femininity, etc were determined by your gender settings. What gives?

Umm, no. No it wouldn't be. It's a VM so it will always have a layer of abstraction more compared to native compiled code.
If there's no use for the object when it goes out of scope then it's better to be dropped as soon as possible. Keeping it around just pollutes the CPU caches on something that will never be used again.
On the other hand, if hundreds of objects keep getting recreated and destroyed in a busy loop then the implementation is bad and you should consider using statically allocated buffers for such objects to avoid the cost of new / delete and heap management, not to mention inevitable heap fragmentation and eventually running out of memory. So as you can see, dynamic memory allocation and automatic memory management are sometimes a problem, not a solution.
Also, what you cite as "can be more performant overall" is literally one of the worst aspects of GC -- being non-deterministic.
C++ will take known time to deal with heap allocation / deallocation. Every time the cost will be the same. GC in a GC language will trigger when it hits some treshold and if it has a lot of stuff to do it will negatively impact the overall application or even the whole system performance.
Except that seasoned C/C++ developers would probably do way better with memory management and data structures / layouts because when you start learning those languages those are the very first things you have to grasp. On the other hand, Java and Net are quite "forgiving" and try to abstract, in my opinion, way too much from the developer.
