I'm mourning the loss of this one too. Meeting, romancing, and impregnating the mother and other sister was something i was looking forward to experiencing.
Suddenly four more posts on this thread talking about how it's abandoned: did I miss some official news? While it has the [Abandoned] tag, to my understanding it's really just on a long hiatus.
Usually the Abandoned tag is applied here on F95 when the developer announces they are abandoning the project, but also, when there has been 6 months without any communication from the developer.

No, it's when there is no communication on their socials after 3 months or 18 months with no new update.
Last the dev said something haven't had time or something to work on it currently.
People do that shit all the time, it's like the people shouting hero....

Unfortunately, once a game is hit with an abandoned label, it rarely is ever able to regain the traction it once had.
Is it worth even commenting anymore that this and Octopussy Island aren't abandoned? The Dev has said multiple times in both threads that they're still being worked on and that OI is getting the next update. The abandoned tag is auto-posted on this site after a certain amount of time. If you're going to bitch about a game you're most likely playing for free if you're on here, then at least wait for someone official to say when its actually dropped.

Sure it is worth mentioning this, for all the reasons you list, but let's face reality.
In my opinion, the dev made a severe mistake when starting OI. Limitless was still relatively early in story developement, so already starting a second project back then made him seem overambitious.
Also, seriously, OI was doomed to get nuked from orbit due to issues that are covered by rule 7, even before the recent crackdowns by patreon. Anouncing to put even temporal developement focus on OI, instead of continuing this game's story and the comparatively tame taboos it has, did not make any sense to me back then.
And was putting a death mark on this game.

Starting a new project when the old one is barely done is a classic mistake many devs make. He should shelf OI and finish this game. It got abandoned just when it was getting interesting.

or do you think a f95 "abandoned" tag means the dev is forced to abandon the VN?
the VN is not abandoned, dev just had a streak of bad luck so far.

Don't patronize me. I know what the dev said. We even talked here on the zone.
I never said he was forced to abandon his games. I said actions are louder than words.
At this point he needs big updates for his games to get peoples interest and MONEY back.
OI needs at least a jump to a v0.3 and LIM to at least day 7 without stupid shit like day X part Y.
So a lot of work would be needed and so far he wasn't up to the task.

To add insult to injury the dev also dropped content or more accurately started forcing stuff that he'd made optional for the first how ever many updates and then the last update of this he forced stuff because he didn't have time or it was too much work etc to carry on letting LI's be optional.

To be honest I find it really hard to blame devs for doing this. I know that turns it from 'game' to VN (mostly) but once you reach a certain number of ladies it's absolute hell to consider all the possible variations and render for each. I mean, but while I don't blame them I don't think they should try in the first place - just full harem from the start, because otherwise you waste time in development and disappoint others.
Pretty sure I kept the twins and the petite blonde, and could opt out of everyone else.
It was really short because of all the content skipped.
