It's a VN hybrid with sandbox elements.. I think most players expected more VN than tedious hover-search-click sandbox, it got the typical search and hover looking for hidden items and spots bound to forced quests.
sandbox poorly done is one thing, but the reviewers seem to hate sandbox period. even calling for it to be handled simply by choices. i just feel for a first release its a little pointless to give a 1 or 2 star review because the areas lack content. its much easier to build empty places at the beginning than it is to try to piece together major areas as they become more relevant. also better for the player in my opinion, since you already become familiar with areas, instead of knowing where to go, then bam, 3 updates in you have to look for 17 new areas you didnt know existed. the only reason i can see someone trying to do this so early in development is to attempt to force the developer into changing the game to what they want it to be. or just to be a dick if there is no reason behind it. i guess we will have to wait and see if the areas do eventually fill with stuff, but at this point, it just seems dumb to hate on something because you dont like the premise to begin with. not saying you hate it, your complaint is valid, that its not the idea, but the implementation, but the ones who dont like sandbox and showed up to shit on a sandbox game. to each their own, i guess.

Hahaha, what did you expect in a game that is labelled Sandbox? Also, Lust Theory also does this so it is hardly new for Inceton games. Maybe you should check the game tags before downloading stuff and acting like someone insulted your ancestors.
Well, in my understanding, these kind of games developed a new approach to collect money for creators work.
